AAA TV Show (12/31/1999)

(More or less a rush job, as I've been pretty busy/lazy the last few
days...  But now I'm not. :)  Enjoy.)

[Dark Match]:
Ayako Hamada pinned Linda Star after a rana in 0:05:52.
Rating: 1/2*

[Dark Match]:
Mini Psicosis pinned Mini Ludxor with the Flying Legdrop in 0:01:19.
Rating: 3/4*

These two dark matches were tryout matches for Linda Star and Mini
Ludxor.  They've been signed to short-term deals now, and we'll have
to wait and see how they do before deciding if they stay or not.
Ayako Hamada beat Star in a surprisingly competitive match, and Mini
Psicosis squashed Mini Ludxor in a not-so-competitive match.

Welcome to (a shortened version of) AAA TV!  We are in Leon, Mexico,
and we wish all of you a Happy New Year, as we head into the year
2000!  Only four matches tonight, but they all promise to be
interesting ones, especially the main event!  Negro Casas and Gran
Apache agreed to it, and tonight, on the final AAA TV show of the
millennium, they will go at it...  IN A HAIR VS. HAIR MATCH!  That
promises to be a brutal match!  Right now, let's head to the ring!

MATCH #1: Electro Shock, Felino and Heavy Metal vs. Histeria, Maniaco
and Psicosis - FALLS-COUNT-ANYWHERE MATCH (Two referee system in
effect)

Wrestling?  HAH!  This was an old-fashioned brawl.  Los Vipers started
off by hitting stereo planchas onto the tecnicos, and earned the
approval of the fans.  Felino and Maniaco brawled in the ring, while
Psicosis and Electro Shock went to the back, and Heavy Metal and
Histeria fought into the crowd.  Felino and Maniaco managed to
actually have a good little wrestling sequence (!) in the ring, with
Maniaco hitting a power bomb for a two count by referee Tropicasas.
Felino fought back, however, and after a flurry of offense in the
corner, hit a power bomb of his own for a two count.  The brawl
quickly spilled over to the outside, where Maniaco managed to grab
hold of a chair, and when Felino turned around...  Maniaco tossed it
into his face.  Oh, wait a second...  He tossed it into his face, then
kicked the chair into Felino's face!  Maniaco confused me for a second
there.  Meanwhile, Heavy Metal is just hitting Histeria with whatever
he can find in the crowd!  A woman's purse, a can of beer, a bag of
popcorn...  You get the picture.  Metal sets up a chair...  AND DDT'S
HISTERIA ONTO IT!  Referee Tirantes goes down for the cover...  BUT
METAL ONLY GETS TWO!  With two referees, this match could end at any
time...  In the back, with *no* referee, Psicosis and Electro Shock
are going crazy!  Psicosis tosses Shock into a ladder, then when he
staggers forward...  POWERSLAM!  Psic then finds a table, and after
punching Shock a few times, places him on the table and climbs the
ladder!  Uh-oh...  FLYING LEGDROP THROUGH THE TABLE!  BUT ELECTRO
SHOCK MOVED!  Psicosis crashed through that table hard, and Shock goes
off in search of something...  A BROOM!  Electro Shock whacks away at
Psicosis' back, as we head to ringside, as Maniaco is choking Felino
with a camera cord!  Maniaco searches underneath the ring, and finds a
toolbox...  OOH!  Felino falls over the guardrail, and he just might
be busted open!  Meanwhile, Histeria and Heavy Metal are on the
stairway, and Metal has a chair!  Histeria is staggering, and Heavy
Metal runs towards him...  AAH!!!  TIRANTES TRIPPED HEAVY METAL!!!
METAL'S ROLLING DOWN THE STAIRS!  HE CRASHES INTO THE GUARDRAIL!
Tirantes looks stunned, like it was an accident!  Histeria runs down
to ringside, as we see Psicosis and Electro Shock...  OUTSIDE???  I
guess falls *do* really count anywhere, even if there are no referee's
outside...  Anyways, Shock tries to ram Psicosis into a Chevy, but
Psic reverses!  Shock rebounds off the Chevy, and Psicosis breaks a
flower pot on his head for good measure!  Finally, some officials are
coming out to send these two back inside.  But back at ringside,
Felino is getting double-teamed by Maniaco and Histeria, as Heavy
Metal lies unconscious next to the guardrail...  DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE BY
LOS VIPERS!  Cover...  One...  two...  KICKOUT!  Maniaco and Histeria
pick Felino up...  DOUBLE POWER BOMB!!!  Felino's out!  Maniaco grabs
a table, while Histeria heads up top...  Oh, no!  VIPERSAULT THROUGH
THE TABLE!!!  WHAT A MOVE!  Histeria and Felino are both down and out!
Maniaco goes and covers Felino...  One...  two...  THREE!!!  LOS
VIPERS WIN!

Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Los Vipers (Psicosis, Histeria and Maniaco) defeated Electro Shock,
Heavy Metal and Felino when Maniaco pinned E. Shock after the
Vipersault in 0:14:20.
Rating: *** 1/4

MATCH #2: Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Matt Hardy - ONE FALL (Match requested
by Contest Winner...  JOSH LILLER! [And yes, Josh, I know you wanted a
2/3 fall match, but I'll put that on the next house show.  I screwed
up. :)  Sorry.])

SPOTFEST!  Tirantes is the referee.  Hardy and Misterio lock up right
away, and Hardy wastes no time in going for a Michinoku Driver, but
Misterio counters with a backdrop!  Misterio waits a little bit, then
tries a handspring into a Frankensteiner, but Hardy catches him...
POWER BOMB!  One...  two...  KICKOUT!  Hardy picks Misterio up...
SWINGING NECKBREAKER!  That could do it!  This was fast!  One...
two...  REY GETS HIS SHOULDER UP!  Hardy tosses Misterio off the
ropes, and nails him with a shoulderblock.  Misterio gets up, and
Hardy jumps onto his shoulders for a Frankensteiner...  TIGER DRIVER
BY MISTERIO!  One...  two...  NO!  TWO COUNT!  Hardy gets picked up...
SITDOWN FACESLAM!  Rey places Hardy in the corner, and signals for the
Bronco Buster...  BUT HARDY MOVES!!!  OOH!  Tirantes even cringed on
that one!  Hardy climbs up top...  MOONSAULT BODYBLOCK!  One...
two...  MISTERIO GETS HIS SHOULDER UP!  Hardy takes Misterio down with
a spinning leg lariat, then picks him up...  MICHINOKU DRIVER!  Hardy
isn't done yet, however, as he places Misterio on the top rope, and
climbs up himself...  Superplex attempt...  BLOCKED!  Rey reverses...
SUPERPLEX!  BOTH MEN ARE DOWN!  Tirantes is counting, as they manage
to get to their feet...  REY'S UP!  Dropkick on Hardy sends him into
the corner, and Rey stomps away for a few seconds, and now he's ready!
Rey runs in...  BRONCO BUSTER!  Rey drags Hardy to the center of the
ring, and goes for the pin...  One........  two........  KICKOUT!
SLOW COUNT!!!  Misterio immediately jumps up and complains to Tirantes
about the count, but Hardy's up...  HARDY CUTTER!  Cover...  ONE!
TWO!  THREE!!!  FAST COUNT!!!  MATT HARDY UPSETS REY MISTERIO JR.!

Matt Hardy pinned Rey Misterio Jr. with the Hardy Cutter in 0:04:17.
Rating: ** 1/4

But Matt doesn't seem too impressed, as he yells at Tirantes after the
match as well!  Tirantes wisely runs backstage, as Hardy raises
Misterio's hand.  Biased ref withstanding, this was a good match.
Hardy and Misterio were talking about a rematch as they exited...

During a quick intermission, it was announced that Heavy Metal and
Felino have been taken to a local hospital, as a result of their
Falls-Count-Anywhere match earlier on tonight.  That does *not* bode
well for Negro Casas, at any rate...

MATCH #3: El Hijo Del Santo, Octagon and Perro Aguayo (w/Xochitl
Hamada) vs. Abismo Negro, Black Warrior and Pentagon - ONE FALL

To say that this match was *clean* wouldn't be very truthful.
Tropicasas was the referee, but he spent a lot of his time trying to
break up brawls on the outside, to be honest.  Pentagon and Octagon
started off, much to the crowd's delight, and wasted no time in taking
the battle to the outside.  Octagon took the advantage early on after
whipping Pentagon into the guardrail, then tossed him back inside.
Octagon then hit a Frankensteiner, but only got a two count.  Abismo
Negro then shoved Octagon from behind, and while they went at it,
Pentagon hit Octagon with a knee to the back!  Side suplex by
Pentagon, followed by a slingshot elbowdrop and a tag to Abismo.  Back
suplex by Abismo, followed by a kick to the midsection that was *this*
close to being called as a faul.  Abismo whips Octagon into the ropes,
ducks the clothesline, and hits a nice gutwrench suplex.  That'll
get...  A TWO COUNT!  Abismo tags out to Pentagon, and holds him in
position for a dropkick, which connects.  Pentagon goes off the
ropes...  FLYING BODYPRESS!  One...  two...  NO!  KICKOUT!  Spin kick
by Pentagon, as Octagon really needs to make a tag right now!  El Hijo
Del Santo runs in to try make the save, but Abismo cuts him off, and
they go at it.  Meanwhile, Pentagon goes for a suplex, but Octagon
blocks and hits one of his own!  Octagon rolls out of the ring, making
Santo the legal man.  Pentagon tags out to Abismo, who misses a
clothesline, then gets two of his punches blocked.  Good start.  Santo
ducks a second clothesline attempt, and rolls up Abismo...  One...
two...  KICKOUT!  Abismo gets up...  RANA BY SANTO!  And a legdrop!
Meanwhile, Pentagon just sent Octagon *crashing* into the steel
steps!Abismo staggers up, and gets taken down with a pair of armdrag
takedowns, followed by a clothesline which sends Abismo out of the
ring!  Santo looks like he's going to dive to the outside...  BUT
STOPS!  ABISMO USED OCTAGON AS A HUMAN SHIELD!  Disgusting!  Abismo
climbs back into the ring, and is met with a series of chops by Santo.
Santo goes for a spinning backbreaker...  SPINNING HEADSCISSORS INTO A
CRADLE BY ABISMO NEGRO!  What a counter!  One...  two...  KICKOUT!
Tag made to Pentagon.  Santo manages to get up, and goes for a flying
cross body press...  PENTAGON ROLLS THROUGH!  One...  two...  THREE!
NO!  TWO COUNT!  Abismo runs in, and Santo gets dropped to the mat
with a double backdrop!  Pentagon has Santo in position for a Russian
legsweep...  OH!!!  XOCHITL HAMADA CAME OUT OF THE CROWD AND HIT
OCTAGON WITH A FOREIGN OBJECT!  Pentagon is out cold!  Xochitl turns
around...  ABISMO NEGRO CATCHES HER!!!  He's...  NO!  TOMBSTONE!
DON'T DO IT!  I...  PERRO AGUAYO WITH THE SAVE!  Perro motions for
Santo to make the tag...  AND HE DOES!  Here comes Perro!  Pentagon
goes down after an elbowsmash!  A clothesline sends Pentagon out of
the ring!  Perro follows, and slams Pentagon into the guardrail!
Perro sets Pentagon up...  SENTON ON THE FLOOR!  WHOA!  Perro picks
Pentagon up...  JUMPING SIDE KICK FROM BEHIND BY BLACK WARRIOR!
Pentagon rolls Perro into the ring, and Warrior climbs up top...  ASAI
MOONSAULT!  THAT SHOULD DO IT...  NO!  Pentagon tags back in, and
picks up Perro...  HERE COMES BLUE DEMON JR.!  Pentagon has Perro in
position...  RUSSIAN LEGSWEEP!  Pentagon turns around...  STUNNER!!!
WHAT THE HELL?  Demon Jr. hit Pentagon with the Stunner, and ran out
of the ring!  Meanwhile, Santo tosses Abismo Negro into the ring, and
climbs up top for a tope...  EL DANDY!  DANDY HIT SANTO WITH A CHAIR
FROM BEHIND!  Santo is down!  Abismo climbs up top...  SKY FLYING
SENTON!!!  One...  two...  THREE!!!

Pentagon, Abismo Negro and Black Warrior defeated Octagon, Perro
Aguayo and El Hijo Del Santo when A. Negro pinned Santo Jr. with the
Sky Flying Senton in 0:10:26.
Rating: ** 1/4

WHAT THE HELL?  The rudos win, but Pentagon was rocked with a Stunner
out of nowhere!  What was that all about?  Hopefully, we'll find out
next week.  And why was Xochitl Hamada with the tecnicos, to begin
with?  I mean...  You know, as a valet...  manager...  observer...
Whatever.  Things get weirder and weirder...  And they'll probably get
even weirder in the coming weeks.

HERE COME HEAVY METAL AND FELINO!  IT'S ABOUT TIME!  Felino goes after
Shocker, and Metal attacks Shiiba, leaving Apache alone with Casas!
Still, Apache appears to have no problems, slamming Casas into the
guardrail before tossing him back in.  As soon as they get back
inside, Apache hits Casas with an elbow to the jaw, then hits a
reverse neckbreaker.  Apache signals that it's time for the finish,
and places Casas in position...  What is this?  A POWER BOMB?  A
PILEDRIVER?  It's...  NO!  CASAS COUNTERS WITH A BACKDROP!  Apache
goes off the ropes, and Casas connects with a kick to the gut!  Casas
