AAA TV Show (11/12/1999)

[Lightning Match]:
Esther Moreno and Ayako Hamada battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: 3/4*

Esther Moreno needs to get back into ring shape, and a 10-minute draw
against Ayako Hamada won't hurt her, to say the least.  Nice plancha
by Ayako at the six minute mark.  Both women shook hands after the
match.

[Dark Match]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Fugaz, Thunderbird and Super Nova II beat Abeja Africana, Geo and
Nygma 2 falls to 1:
x Thunderbird beat A. Africana via an abdominal stretch in 0:10:49
x A. Africana beat Thunderbird via the Flying Splash in 0:15:57
x Thunderbird beat A. Africana via the Frankensteiner in 0:18:23
Rating: 1/4*

Not good at all.  Sloppy ringwork, and poorly executed spots.  The
only bright spot was Thunderbird's Frankensteiner onto Abeja at the
end, which was well done.  Other than that, this was below average, to
say the least.

Welcome to AAA TV, from Leon!  Very interesting show, to say the
least, as we are a little short on time, thanks to the soccer game
which just finished a few minutes ago.  In any event, we have a big
show for you today, as the Caged Fury Tournament continues!  Perro
Aguayo takes on Sangre Chicana, and Heavy Metal faces Gran Apache!
Also, Matt Hardy makes his AAA debut, and we have one great main event
coming up, from what I understand!  Right now, let's take you to a
recap of last week's events:

- Ultimo Dragon and Pierroth Jr. are drawn to face each other in the
first round of the Caged Fury Tournament.
- The match never gets underway, as Tradicion comes out, and proceed
to hammer away on Dragon's left arm.
- A chair is brought in, and Dragon's left arm is placed in the chair.
Do the math.
- Pierroth mercifully locks on a sleeperhold as soon as the bell
rings, and advances to the second round of the tournament.
- Antonio Pena comes out, and suspends Pierroth for his actions.
- Pierroth *quits* AAA on the spot, then hits Pena with a
PierrothBomb, to close the show.

Phew...  Well, here's what we've been told, so far.

- Ultimo Dragon had emergency surgery done on his left arm last
Thursday night.  More surgery followed on Saturday and this Tuesday.
At the moment, doctors fear that it could be a career-threatening
injury, but won't be sure until more tests are done.
- Pierroth *is* out of AAA.
- Antonio Pena has been told to rest following last week's attack.
Next week, we have learned that someone will be named to take Pena's
place for the time being.
- Now, here's how the Caged Fury Brackets look:

Winners Bracket:

G1 - BYE (*) vs. Discovery
G1 - Brazo De Oro/Binary vs. Pentagon/Abismo Negro
G2 - Magnum Tokyo/Aguila vs. May Flowers
G2 - Perro Aguayo/Sangre Chicana vs. Heavy Metal/Gran Apache

Losers Bracket:

G1 - El Dandy (*) vs. Histeria
G1 - Loser of Brazo De Oro/Binary vs. Loser of Pentagon/Abismo Negro
G2 - Loser of Magnum Tokyo/Aguila vs. Electro Shock
G2 - Loser of Perro Aguayo/Sangre Chicana vs. Loser of Heavy
Metal/Gran Apache

(*) - Antonio Pena has given Discovery a bye to the semi-finals, and
has rules that Pierroth lost the match to Ultimo Dragon by reverse
decision.  And, since El Dandy has been named the leader of Tradicion,
it is only fitting that he be added into the Loser's Bracket to take
Pierroth's spot.  Simple.

Now, let's head to the ring for our opening bout!

MATCH #1: Matt Hardy (AAA Debut), Rey Dragon and Brazo De Oro vs.
Binary, Ultimo Guerrero and Moto Cross - ONE FALL

Only highlight form, unfortunately.  Matt has his WWF clothes on
tonight, while Moto Cross comes to the ring on a motorbike, with a
biker's jacket and helmet on.  Nice to see him on TV, at least.  The
highlights were:

- Rey Dragon tries to hit Binary right away with a springboard
dropkick, but misses horribly.
- Rey Dragon eventually does hit a flying dropkick for two, however.
- Rey Dragon makes the tag to Matt Hardy, who immediately takes Binary
down with a flying bodypress for two.
- Binary hits Hardy with a DDT for two.
- Binary tags in super-cocky Moto Cross, who hits a dropkick on Hardy
and tags Ultimo Guerrero in.
- Hardy tags Dragon back in, and Ultimo Guerrero gets taken down with
a double flying dropkick.
- Back in, Hardy hits Guerrero with a German suplex, but Guerrero gets
tangled up in the ropes, preventing the pin.  Hardy then hits him with
a pair of snap suplexes.
- Moto Cross is tagged back in, and takes Hardy down with a Mexican
armdrag takedown.  Then, Hardy's tossed from the ring, and Moto Cross
leaps onto him with a PLANCHA!
- Matt Hardy hits a wicked Michinoku Driver on Moto Cross.
- Moto Cross goes for Top Rope Headscissors on Hardy, but Brazo De Oro
pushes him off the top rope, and Hardy leaps onto him with a moonsault
for two!
- Rey Dragon goes to hit Moto Cross with a ropeflip moonsault, but the
knees go up, and Dragon is winded.
- However, Moto Cross was eventually taken down with a double power
bomb by Hardy and Oro, and was in prime position for a Stardust Press
by Rey Dragon, to get the pinfall.

Matt Hardy, Rey Dragon and Brazo De Oro defeated Binary, Ultimo
Guerrero and Moto Cross when R. Dragon pinned M. Cross with the
Stardust Press in 0:09:25.

MATCH #2: Heavy Metal vs. Gran Apache - AAA Caged Fury Tournament -
FIRST ROUND MATCH (Group 2)

Both men waste no time going at it with a flurry of punches and kicks,
with most of them finding their target.  Apache takes down Metal with
a pumphandle slam, but wastes time picking him up, and Metal, after a
go-behind, takes Apache down with a German suplex.  Spin kick by
Metal, followed by a series of kicks to the stomach and midsection, to
wear down Apache.  Waistlock takedown by Metal now, but now *he*
hesitates, and gets slammed into the mat with an Apache DDT.
Obviously, both men aren't really used to this type of match.  Apache
goes to lock on a camel clutch, but Metal blocks it, and takes Apache
down to the mat with a single-leg takedown.  A flurry of mounted
punches by Metal follows, who then sends Apache to the mat with a
dropkick.  Apache hits a reverse neckbreaker after that, however, and
now regains control.  Metal gets his head bashed into the cage a
couple of times, and gets taken down with a nice brain buster.  Apache
gets two belly-to-back suplex attempts blocked, however, and Metal's
right back on the attack.  A nice vertical suplex on Apache, followed
by a reverse flying elbowdrop.  Then, Heavy Metal gives the sign for
the finish, and tries to lock a sleeperhold on Apache...  BUT GETS A
FAUL IN RETURN!  Apache immediately locks on a camel clutch in the
center of the ring, and Metal has no choice but to submit and give
Apache the match!  Apache saves his hair and moves on, while Metal's
in danger of losing his mask...  Good match, if rushed at certain
parts.

Submission Cage Match:
Gran Apache made Heavy Metal submit to a camel clutch in 0:07:10.

MATCH #3: Perro Aguayo vs. Sangre Chicana - AAA Caged Fury Tournament
- FIRST ROUND MATCH (Group 2)

Oh, my God.  Words cannot do this match justice - it was utter crap.
Now, I know that Perro's had better days, but come on - when a guy
keeps going for a f*cking ABDOMINAL STRETCH submission in a submission
match!  I mean, couldn't he have went for a figure-four or a sleeper
at some point?  Chicana wasn't that much better - at one point, it
looked like he was working the leg, but the next moment, he was
working on the arm.  Then, he went for a sleeperhold.  Not very
good...  Anyways, this match was a farce, and it would be pointless to
recap the thing.  The finish came when Perro went to splash into
Chicana, but missed and smacked his head against the cage, busting
himself open.  Chicana then locked on a figure-four, and Aguayo, after
25 seconds, finally tapped out.  Chicana advances to the next round of
the Caged Fury Tournament, while Perro's now in danger of losing his
hair for the *second* time this year.  Uh-oh...

Submission Cage Match:
Sangre Chicana made Perro Aguayo submit to a figure-four leglock in
0:06:17.

MATCH #4: Blue Demon Jr. (c) vs. Magnum Tokyo - UWA Junior Heavyweight
Title Match - ONE FALL

Now, this is more like it!  Lockup, Demon Jr. hits a pair of snap
suplexes right off the back, then hits Tokyo with a spinning
backbreaker.  Tokyo crawls out of the ring, and Demon Jr. leaps onto
him with a TOPE SUICIDA!!!  Both men are down!  Demon Jr. tosses Tokyo
back into the ring, and hits a spin kick for a two count.  Demon Jr.
locks on the dreaded abdominal stretch, but Tokyo breaks the hold, and
starts hammering away at Demon Jr.'s skull with a series of punches.
Armdrag takedown by Tokyo, who seems to be in control until both men
get nailed with a DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!  Demon Jr. gets up first, and
hits a Northern Lights suplex...  TWO COUNT!  Demon Jr. tries to go
for a front facelock, but that gets countered with an inverted atomic
drop!  Both men exchange a flurry of punches, with Tokyo coming out
victorious this time.  Shoulderblock by Tokyo, followed by a Boston
crab.  Demon Jr. reaches the ropes, but almost gets pinned after a
flying elbowdrop by Tokyo!  Tokyo then sets Demon Jr. up on the top
rope...  TOP-ROPE FRANKENSTEINER!  WE MAY HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!
Cover...  One...  two...  SHOULDER UP!  So close!  Tokyo hits a
clothesline, but gets a DDT attempt blocked.  Demon Jr. then corners
Tokyo, and hits him with a series of chops to the chest.  Demon Jr.
sets up Tokyo...  POWER BOMB!  One...  two...  KICKOUT!  Demon Jr.
looks pretty ticked, as he slowly picks Tokyo up...  KICK TO THE
MIDSECTION!  VIAGRA DRIVER!!!  That should do it!  Tokyo should go for
the cover...  HE IS!  One...  two...  SHOULDER UP!!!  HE WAITED TOO
LONG!  Tokyo locks on an armbar submission, and Demon Jr. is screaming
in pain!  Finally, after over 20 seconds, he manages to reach the
ropes and break the hold.  Jumping side kick by Tokyo...  TWO COUNT!
Swinging DDT...  FOOT ON THE ROPES!  Snap suplex...  KICKOUT!  Tokyo
is on fire at the moment, but he can't seem to keep Demon Jr. down!
Tokyo goes to whip Demon Jr. into the corner...  REF BUMP!  Demon Jr.
gets rocked with a superkick by Tokyo!  Tokyo is going up top...  AV
STAR PRESS!!!  GET UP, REF!  ONE!  TWO!  THREE!  FOUR!  FIVE!  THE REF
STILL ISN'T UP!  Tokyo slowly picks Demon Jr. up...  Could this be a
Viagra Driver?  Kick to the midsection...  STUNNER BY BLUE DEMON
JR.!!!  BOTH MEN ARE OUT!  THE REF STILL ISN'T UP!  Demon Jr. crawls
to the outside, and grabs the title!  He tosses it into the ring...
What's he doing?  He sets up Tokyo...  Oh, no!  NO!  He's going to hit
a German suplex onto the title belt!  THIS ISN'T RIGHT!  Wait a
second...  OCTAGON!!!  OCTAGON RAN INTO THE RING!  SUPERKICK ON DEMON
JR.!!!  Octagon just laid out Demon Jr.!  Tokyo slowly gets up...  He
has no idea what happened!  Demon Jr.'s struggling to get up, but his
bell's been rung!  Tokyo takes Demon Jr...  CRADLE!  INTO A BRIDGE!
One...  two...  THREE!!!  NEW CHAMPION!  NEW CHAMPION!  MAGNUM TOKYO
HAS DONE IT!!!

Magnum Tokyo pinned Blue Demon Jr. after a rolling reverse cradle into
a bridge in 0:10:40.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Magnum Tokyo won the UWA Junior Heavyweight Title.)

Tokyo was in tears after the match, as he dedicated this win to Ultimo
Dragon, and held the belt up high!  Demon Jr. was enraged, and left
the ring to laughs from the fans, but not before giving the referee
the Stunner!

And now, it's time for the main event, and it looks like it's going to
be Negro Casas, Octagon and Aguila against Kickboxer, Pentagon and
Abismo Negro.  Very interesting...  Wait a second!  The ring announcer
has the microphone...

"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Antonio Pena has made this match a
four-on-four match! *pop*  Making their way to the ring for the
rudos...  BLACK WARRIOR!"

NO!  Black Warrior is in AAA!  The fans are shocked, but their
reaction isn't positive, to say the least.  Warrior shakes hands with
the rudo team, and taunts the rudos.

"And making their way to the ring for the tecnicos..........  EL HIJO
DEL SANTO!!!"

HUGE POP!!!  EL HIJO DEL SANTO IS ALSO IN AAA!!!  THE RUDOS ARE
SHOCKED!  The fans give Santo a standing ovation for a few minutes, as
he shakes hands with the fans and his teammates.  Santo and Negro
Casas also embrace, to the cheers of the crowd.  Finally, after
everything was sorted out, the match finally...  BEGAN!

MAIN EVENT: El Hijo Del Santo (AAA Debut), Negro Casas, Octagon and
Aguila vs. Black Warrior (AAA Debut), Kickboxer, Pentagon and Abismo
Negro - ONE FALL

Aguila and Warrior start off this four-on-four match.  Lockup...  No,
a flurry of kicks and punches by both men instead!  Abismo Negro runs
in, and they attack Aguila in the corner.  Double armbar by both men
for just a few seconds, as Aguila winces in pain.  Abismo leaves the
ring, as Warrior takes Aguila down with a bodyslam.  Warrior...  GOES
UP TOP!  ASAI MOONSAULT!  Cover...  One...  two...  CASAS MAKES THE
SAVE!  Chokehold by Warrior on Aguila, who holds it for as long as he
can.  Abismo comes in, and Aguila is the recipient of a double
backdrop by the duo.  Warrior leaves the ring, and Abismo power bombs
Aguila for two.  Abismo picks up Aguila, but gets nailed with some
kicks, and he goes to the corner...  AND TAGS IN EL HIJO DEL SANTO!!!
SANTO'S OFFICIAL AAA IN-RING DEBUT!  Dropkick on Abismo!  Santo goes
up top...  TOPE!  Now Casas comes in, and they hit Abismo with a
double clothesline!  Back suplex by Santo, and Abismo is begging off!
Santo goes over, but gets a shot to the stomach, and Kickboxer is
tagged in.  Casas is quick to run in after him, however, and
clotheslines Kickboxer.  This allows Santo to hit a German suplex for
a two count.  Santo misses a clothesline, and gets placed into
position for a power bomb...  RANA COUNTER!  One...  two...  KICKOUT!
Two dropkicks by Santo send Kickboxer into the ropes, and the tag is
made to Casas!  Flying dropkick by Casas, which sends Kickboxer out of
the ring.  Casas looks pretty aggressive here, sending Kickboxer
flying into the ringsteps head-first before tossing him back in.
Casas goes for a cover, but only gets two.  Finally, Kickboxer comes
back with a series of kicks to the head, then locks on a Ziplock.
Octagon manages to make the save there, but Kickboxer clotheslines
Octagon out, and stuns Casas with an eye gouge.  Tag made to Abismo.
Clothesline, followed by a dropkick on Casas.  Abismo then hammers
away on Casas in the corner with elbows, before hitting a vertical
suplex.  Tag made to Pentagon.  Back suplex gets two, as does a
bodyslam.  Pentagon goes over to the tecnico corner to confront
Octagon, but that backfires, and Octagon hits Pentagon with a Hotshot!
Casas stops Pentagon in his tracks with a forearm smash, then tags
Santo in!  Santo stomps away on Pentagon, then hits a rana...  NO!
POWER BOMB BY PENTAGON!  One...  two...  KICKOUT!  Pentagon tosses
Santo out of the ring, and runs towards him...  TOPE SUICIDA!  WOW!
Now, we have Abismo, Warrior, and Kickboxer battling it out on the
outside with Casas, Octagon and Aguila!  All eight men are on the
outside, and Pentagon tosses Santo into the guardrail.  Pentagon...
WAIT A SECOND!  That's...  XOCHITL HAMADA!  SHE'S IN THE RING!
Pentagon notices...  TOPE SUICIDA BY XOCHITL ONTO PENTAGON!!!  QUE
MORTAL!  The referee didn't see this, still tied up with the brawl on
the outside!  Santo didn't notice either, and tosses Pentagon back
into the ring.  Frankensteiner by Santo, and Pentagon's down!  Santo
climbs the ropes...  TOPE ONTO PENTAGON!  And Santo's signaling for
the finish...  YES!  THE CAMEL CLUTCH!  PENTAGON TAPS OUT RIGHT
AWAY!!!  TECNICOS WIN!!!

El Hijo Del Santo, Negro Casas, Octagon and Aguila defeated Black
Warrior, Kickboxer, Pentagon and Abismo Negro when Santo Jr. made
Pentagon submit to the Camel Clutch in 0:13:35.
Rating: * 1/2

The show ends with the tecnicos celebrating their victory, as Pentagon
storms to the back, enraged!

(Then, we cut to *another* soccer match. :) )
