(Noti-AAA follows.
We're from Tlalnepantla tonight - pretty big show,
but most people mailed it
in.)
Two-out-of-three-Falls
Match:
Kaori
Nakayama beat Xochitl Hamada 2 falls to 1:
x
K. Nakayama beat X. Hamada via the Moonsault in 0:10:56
x
X. Hamada beat K. Nakayama via the Flying Legdrop in 0:18:23
x
K. Nakayama beat X. Hamada via the Moonsault in 0:21:34
Rating:
* 3/4
(Kaori
Nakayama retained the Mexican National Women's Title.)
Case in point, this match.
Both women came out to a good pop, but the
first fall wasn't so hot,
with Xochitl getting around 90% of the
offense in until Kaori hit
a faceslam, followed by the Moonsault for
the first fall win.
Second fall was OK, with the action going back
and forth, until Xochitl
managed to hit Kaori with the Flying Legdrop
for the fall. Xochitl
went all-out in the third fall, but made the
fatal mistake of going for
the Flying Legdrop too early, and missed
it. Kaori hit the
Moonsault afterwards to retain the title.
Non-Title-Two-out-of-three-Falls
Match:
Mini
Abismo Negro beat Pikachu 2 falls to 0:
x
Mini Abismo beat Pikachu via the German Suplex in 0:06:16
x
Mini Abismo beat Pikachu via a top-rope gutbuster in 0:09:19
Rating:
** 1/2
The match of the night, despite
Mini Abismo being in control for most
of the two falls.
Despite this being a non-title match, Mini Abismo
wouldn't have been in much
trouble even if the title *was* on the
line. Pikachu tried
to earn himself a title shot, but he came up
short in both falls, and
Mini Abismo earned the relatively easy win.
Two-out-of-three-Falls
Match:
Los
Vatos Locos (May Flowers, Nygma and Picudo) beat Los Nuevos Power
Rangers
(Ludxor, Super Nova II and Venum II) 2 falls to 1:
x
Nygma beat Nova II via an inside cradle in 0:10:36
x
Venum II beat May Flowers via pinfall in 0:16:15
x
Nygma beat Venum II via the Flying Splash in 0:30:11
Rating:
1/2*
The only thing that saved
this match from being a DUD, besides the
fact that Buh Buh Ray and
D-Von were nowhere near the building, was
the stereo topes from Los
Nuevos Power Rangers onto Los Vatos Locos.
For the most part, however,
this one was a brawl, pure and simple.
Nova accidentally hit Venum
II with a baseball bat after Nygma shoved
him into the way, which
was followed with a Flying Splash by Nygma for
the win.
Elimination
Match:
Heavy
Metal, Fugaz, Rey Dragon and Mr. Niebla beat Eddy Guerrero, Moto
Cross,
Ultimo Guerrero and Shiiba 4 falls to 3:

Fugaz beat U. Guerrero via the Flying Senton in 0:03:56
x
Shiiba beat Fugaz via the Frog Splash in 0:06:25
x
R. Dragon beat Shiiba via a moonsault bodyblock in 0:11:26
x
M. Cross beat Mr. Niebla via a power bomb in 0:20:14
x
R. Dragon beat M. Cross via a twisting moonsault in 0:23:41
x
E. Guerrero beat H. Metal via a power bomb in 0:25:10
x
R. Dragon beat E. Guerrero via the Stardust Press in 0:27:25
Survivors:
Rey Dragon
Rating:
* 3/4
Yes, this one *only* got
* 3/4. Fugaz took out Ultimo Guerrero in an
upset, then Shiiba got one
back with a Frog Splash. Rey Dragon then
disposed of Shiiba, before
Moto Cross got a *big* pin over Tag Champ
Mr. Niebla. That didn't
last long, as Rey Dragon hit a sloppy
twisting moonsault on Moto
Cross, and took care of him. Eddy disposed
of Heavy Metal after that,
but Metal distracted Guerrero after the
pinfall, which allowed Rey
Dragon to take advantage with a flying
dropkick to the back of
Guerrero's head, followed by a Stardust Press
for the win!
Two-out-of-three-Falls
Match:
El
Mosco and Mascara Sagrada Jr. beat Los Vipers (Histeria and
Maniaco)
2 falls to 0:
x
Mosco beat Maniaco via a small package in 0:07:29
x
Sagrada Jr. beat Histeria via a crucifix in 0:12:04
Rating:
* 3/4
I guess you could call this
a little bit of an upset. It's a shame to
see Sagrada Jr. pretty much
confined to house shows, but that's the
way it goes, sometimes.
At least Heavy Metal and Shiiba were moved up
recently. Anyways,
Histeria and Maniaco looked distracted at times,
but still put on a great
fight with the tecnicos. That wasn't enough,
however, and Los Vipers
were swept, two falls to nil.
Non-Title-Match:
Canek
pinned El Cobarde with the Canek Press in 0:10:20.
Rating:
-***
Well... Let's put it
this way. Perro Aguayo and Sangre Chicana
weren't at ringside.
And at least Canek won. Those are the only two
good things I can think
of for this one. Old-school wrestling, with
lots of sleeperholds.
Canek finally ended it with a Canek Press after
Cobarde missed a clothesline.
The fans went home happy, and that's
what really matters.
Noti-AAA:
- AAA's next big card (although
not as big as Triplemania and Verano -
so it should be a 3-4 part
card) will be Noche del Terror, on Friday,
October 29, 1999, from the
San Luis Potosi Arena Coliseo San Luis
Potosí. Matches
already signed for the show are:
Mexican National Heavyweight
Title Match: Blue Demon Jr. (c) vs.
Ultimo Dragon
Negro Casas, Heavy Metal
and Brazo Cibernetico vs. Kickboxer, Gran
Apache and Shiiba (stips
TBA)
Corazon De Leon vs. Abismo Negro (stips TBA)
3 or 4 more matches are still to be announced.
- AAA will be sending Shiiba
to the fledgling NWA 2000 promotion this
week, to face their Heavyweight
Champion, whomever it may be, I'm lead
to assume. That information
may not be 100% accurate, however.
- Rey Dragon has re-signed with AAA.
- Canek, Octagon, Perro Aguayo,
Cibernetico and Aguila all have their
contracts run out after
next week's House Show.
- Xochitl Hamada will be interviewed on this week's AAA TV Show.
- There is a rumor that AAA
may be forced to run their TV Shows on
Fridays instead of Wednesdays
in the near future. The tapings would
still be held on Tuesdays.
- The AAA website will be
updated soon. AAA may also be offering some
wrestlers to indy's and
other feds soon, as part of a new system we
may be trying out.
More news in a week or so.
