AAA House Show (09/25/1999)

Just outside of Puebla, we went to Jalapa tonight.

Binary pinned Super Nova II with the Y2K Crash in 0:08:02.
Rating: -* 3/4

Another day, another squash victory for Binary.  Not all the fans were
in attendance yet to see this match, but the people who came early had
to suffer.  Both men put on a dreadful performance, with Binary taking
the win with a Y2K Crash.  Nova didn't look his usual self tonight,
either...

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Los Vatos Locos (May Flowers, Nygma and Picudo) beat Los Nuevos Power
Rangers (Ludxor, Super Nova II and Venum II) 2 falls to 1:
x Venum II beat Nygma via a Frankensteiner in 0:15:04
x Picudo beat Nova II via his special move in 0:30:24
x Picudo beat Nova II via a power bomb in 0:37:58
Rating: *
(Discovery no-showed.)

...and, to make it worse, Nova had double duty tonight as well.
Discovery couldn't make it to the arena, and because of that, Nova had
no choice but to take his partner's place.  That wasn't such a good
thing, however, as Nova was destroyed by Picudo and Nygma, and ended
up losing the match for his team.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Mini Abismo Negro and Mini Psicosis beat Octagoncito and La Parkita 2
falls to 1:
x Octagoncito beat Mini Abismo via the Octaclutch in 0:11:38
x Mini Psicosis beat Parkita via the Flying Legdrop in 0:20:59
x Mini Abismo beat Parkita via a flying bodypress in 0:27:50
Rating: *** 3/4

Match of the night!  All four minis were working their asses off, and
it showed.  Despite Octacito getting revenge on Mini Abismo for what
happened at Verano in the first fall, La Parkita wasn't so lucky, and
lost one fall to each of the mini rudos.  Tecnicos are 0-3 tonight, so
far.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Thunderbird, Rey Dragon, Aguila and Electro Shock beat Los Vipers
(Histeria and Maniaco), Ultimo Guerrero and Shiiba 2 falls to 1:
x U. Guerrero beat E. Shock via the Reverse Superplex in 0:09:32
x R. Dragon beat Shiiba via the Stardust Press in 0:15:03
x R. Dragon beat Shiiba via the Stardust Press in 0:20:15
Rating: * 1/4

Tecnicos finally take one here, in a disappointing match.  Aguila only
went airborne once, to begin with.  Thunderbird's improving slowly,
but he still has some work to do.  Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Dragon
looked good here.  Dragon tortures Shiiba with two Stardust Presses
for the tecnico victory.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Magnum Tokyo, El Mosco and Negro Casas beat Gran Apache, El Texano and
Pentagon 2 falls to 1:
x M. Tokyo beat Texano via an Asai moonsault in 0:03:30
x Texano beat M. Tokyo via the Magistral Cradle in 0:07:21
x M. Tokyo beat Texano via the AV Star Press in 0:11:22
Rating: ** 1/4

This was a joke match.  Apache and Casas brawled on the outside all
the time, so it was pretty much a regular tag match.  Tokyo and Texano
were in the ring for much of the match, and put on a good show, with
plenty of near falls.  Finally, after a wicked Viagra Driver, Tokyo
put Texano away - cleanly - with an AV Star Press for the tecnico
victory in the main event.

Notes:

- Another D-Day is coming up, as 15 contracts are up as of next
Saturday.  Uh-oh...

- In a surprise move, Pantera went over to AJPW, instead of ECW, as
was rumored.

- AAA is said to be *very* unhappy that EMLL is still alive, under new
management.  Inside sources say that AAA was prepared to offer
contracts to some of EMLL's top stars before the takeover.

- In addition, there were rumors that AAA was going to book Arena
Mexico for a show, but that won't happen now.

- Rossy Moreno may debut on AAA TV this week.

- Octagon, Cibernetico, Canek and Perro Aguayo's contracts are all up
in three weeks time.  Let's hope they stay in AAA...
