x Parkita beat Mini Psicosis via the Frankensteiner in 0:14:07
Rating: ** 3/4

Good opener, with Parkita easily taking care of Mini Psic in two
straight falls.  Lots of crazy dives by both minis in this one, and it
got the crowd psyched.

Welcome to AAA TV, from Puebla.  Big show this week, with 5 matches,
an apparent surprise from Steve Corino, and a lot more...  But we have
these pre-recorded comments first, from Blue Demon Jr., our *new*
Mexican National Heavyweight Champion.

"Yeah...  Nobody gave me a chance.  I'm not as good as my father.
I'll never live up to my father's legacy.  This is what all those
lucha marks were saying, and you know what?  They were dead wrong.
This is just the beginning.  First off, I'm going to be a fighting
champion.  That's why I posted a note on the locker room door today.
The first 8 people to sign it - who were, *ahem*, Cibernetico, who
doesn't deserve another title shot to begin with, Abismo Negro,
Pentagon, Octagon, who must be nuts to sign that sheet, Perro Aguayo,
who will never live to see his next chance at a heavyweight title,
Canek, Ultimo Dragon, and Pierroth Jr., who I hear actually drew
straws with his Tradicion members to see who received the final
spot...  Anyways, they all go into a Battle Royal in the main event,
with the winner eventually getting a title shot against me.  But I
swear, this is just the beginning.  Mark my words."

MATCH #1: Discovery, Ludxor, Super Nova II and Venum II (Los Nuevos
Power Rangers) vs. Abeja Africana, Moto Cross, Nemesis and Shiiba -
2/3 FALL MATCH

This was one *long* match...

First fall: Only the finish was shown here.  Nemesis hit Nova on the
outside with a tope suicida, and Shiiba took Venum down from behind
with a dropkick.  Moto Cross then hit Venum with a flying axhandle
from the top rope, then went for the cover after a jack-knife power
bomb, getting the pin.  Rudos lead, 1-0.

Second fall: Only the finish was shown here.  Abeja Africana rolled up
Ludxor from behind, but only got a two count.  Abeja argued the call,
and then Ludxor rolled *him* up for a near fall.  Moto Cross climbed
up to the top, and went to hit Ludxor with a flying dropkick, but hit
Abeja by accident instead!  Ludxor threw Moto Cross out of the ring,
then took Abeja down with the Top Rope Headscissors for the pinfall.
Match is tied, 1-1.

Third fall: The last few minutes of the fall were shown.  Nova tries
to throw Nemesis into the corner, but that's reversed, and Nova goes
*over* the corner post, and onto the floor!  Nemesis runs towards
him...  FLIP PLANCHA!!!  Now...  Venum's running?  RUNNING SOMERSAULT
PLANCHA ON NEMESIS!!!  Abeja Africana's not to be outdone...  TWISTING
PLANCHA!!!  WOW!  And now Discovery's running...  ASAI MOONSAULT!!!
Shiiba's going for a...  TOPE!!!  Ludxor and Moto Cross are both
running for the ropes...  TOPE SUICIDA BY LUDXOR!  FLYING CROSS BODY
PRESS BY MOTO CROSS!  Everyone's either down, or brawling on the
outside, with Discovery and a *very* dizzy Abeja heading into the
ring.  Abeja goes for a power bomb, but it's blocked, and Discovery
counters with a DDT!  He places Abeja onto the top rope...  TOP-ROPE
FRANKENSTEINER!!!  The cover...  One...  two...  THREE!!!  The
tecnicos win!

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Los Nuevos Power Rangers (Discovery, Ludxor, Super Nova II and Venum
II) beat Moto Cross, Shiiba, Nemesis and Abeja Africana 2 falls to 1:
x M. Cross beat Venum II via a jack-knife power bomb in 0:10:03

A weird, metallic voice then played over the speakers, as Heavy Metal
made his way to the ring...  isn't he supposed to take on Maniaco here
in a Lightning Match???

"It is time...  Time for me to come into existence in AAA.  I have
been wandering around without a cause...  But now, I have one.  Chaos.
Destruction.  Anarchy.  Panic.  Fear.  I am all that, and more.  I am
an executioner and a savior.  I am the one who will lead AAA into the
next millennium.  I am...  BINARY."

Uh-oh...  Metal's in trouble, because Binary (wearing a green, white
and black outfit, with a light green/black mask) is heading to the
ring...  And Metal's ready to go!

MATCH #2: Heavy Metal vs. Binary (AAA Debut?) - Lightning Match - ONE
FALL

Binary attacks right away, planting Metal's head into the mat with a
DDT, getting a two count.  Clothesline attempt by Binary is countered
into a Metal crucifix for two.  Metal fights back with a spinning
backbreaker and a spinning headscissor takedown, but misses a running
elbowdrop.  Metal gets up, and goes for a German suplex, but Binary
blocks the move, and slams Metal into the canvas with a gutwrench
suplex for a two count.  Both men trade punches, until Binary catches
Metal with a chokehold, and holds it for nearly the full five count.
Legdrop by Binary, which gets two.  Binary continues his assault on
Metal, taking him down with a vertical suplex, then a senton, which
nearly wins him the match.  Enzuilariato attempt by Binary, but Metal
counters with a backward kick!  The camera, nor the referee, were in a
good position to tell if it was a faul or not.  Small package by
Metal, which only gets a two count, as Binary recovers.  Metal whips
Binary into the ropes, misses a clothesline, and gets clocked from
behind with a double-axhandle!  Binary picks him up...  holds him
there...  THAT'S HIS MOVE!  The Y2K Crash!  (Michinoku Driver)  He
goes for the pin...  One...  two...  THREE!  He gets it, and Binary
wins his first AAA match!

[Lightning Match]:
Binary pinned Heavy Metal with the Y2K Crash in 0:04:56.

And now, Brazo De Oro and Rey Dragon are in the ring, as they get a
chance to face Mr. Niebla and Magnum Tokyo for the tag titles...  WAIT
A MINUTE!

(Cutting to the back, we see that there is a *padlock* on Niebla and
Tokyo's dressing room, and we hear them banging on the door!)

Niebla and Tokyo are locked in their dressing room, and...  STEVE
CORINO'S COMING DOWN???  He has a microphone...

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

(Chants of "asshole" can be heard...)

"...SHUT UP!  Ladies and gentlemen - and I use that term very loosely
- I'm sorry to inform you that Brazo De Oro and Rey Dragon will not be
facing those...  REJECTS...  Mr. Niebla and Magnum Tokyo.  They
accidentally locked themselves in their own locker room.  Don't know
how that could have happened...  Anyways, Brazo De Oro and Rey Dragon,
consider yourselves very lucky.  I have a fine team lined up in the
back, ready to face you and pummel your faces into a bloody pulp.  If
you do win this match, I have arranged for you to become the *real* #1
Contenders for the Mexican National Tag Team Titles.  And if my team
wins...  Well, we get nothing, as of yet.  So, I'm just going to head
to the back, and send your two replacement opponents to the ring.
Thank you very much for your time."

HUH???  Well, Corino's left, and apparently, he's backstage, as Brazo
De Oro and Rey Dragon stand there, waiting.  And...  the lights have
gone out.  Great.  And we can hear Corino over the PA system.

"Ladies and gentlemen...  May I introduce to you...  Nah.  I'll let
the music speak for itself."

What the heck was that supposed to mean?  I...

That music...

It's...

IT'S...

IT'S JUMP!!!  AND THAT MUST MEAN...

THERE'S STEVE CORINO, AND...

...

EDDY GUERRERO!!!!!

MATCH #3: Brazo De Oro and Rey Dragon vs. Eddy Guerrero [ECW] and
Steve Corino (Los Nuevos Gringos Locos) - ONE FALL

Corino and Guerrero!  They came out to Jump, and acted like
complete...  GRINGOS...  heading to the ring!  We had heard rumors
that Guerrero was in town, but we didn't expect *this*!  Half of the
fans are going nuts, while the other half are booing like hell!

Corino and Dragon will start.  Corino kicks Dragon, taunts him, then
gets kicked in response.  Dragon goes for a chop, but Corino ducks,
and backdrops Dragon to the floor.  Corino points at Eddy...  Eddy
nods...  SOMERSAULT PLANCHA!!!  QUE MORTAL DE CORINO!!!  Corino
decides not to follow up, and jaws with some fans instead.  Um...
Look out, Steve!  MOONSAULT FROM REY DRAGON!!!  Dragon got him!
Dragon tosses Corino into the guardrail, then back into the ring.
Dragon immediately goes for the cover, but only gets a two count.
Dragon goes for a flying somersault bodyblock, but misses, and Corino
rolls him up for a two count.  Tag made to Eddy Guerrero.  Eddy and
Corino pick Dragon up...  DOUBLE DDT!!!  OUCH!  Eddy's climbing up top
already...  MISSES THE FROG SPLASH!  Dragon crawls over, and tags Oro
in!  Dragon and Oro both climb up top...  DOUBLE FLYING DROPKICK ON
EDDY!  Corino comes in to make the save, and ends up being the legal
man.  Oro goes for a rana, but Corino counters it with a power bomb.
Northern Lights suplex on Oro...  TWO COUNT!  Dragon comes in, and
they show some nice teamwork by taking Corino down with a double
Mexican armdrag takedown.  Followed by a double dropkick, of course.
Corino scurries over, and tags Eddy back in.  As a result, Oro gets
hit with a double clothesline.  Eddy picks up Oro, and drops him with
a backbreaker.  Eddy tries to put Oro on the top turnbuckle, but
that's blocked, and Eddy gets hit with flying headscissors instead!
Oro lands some chops, but Eddy stops that quickly with a clothesline,
that sends Oro to the outside.  Some stiff chops by Eddy on the
outside, as Corino cheers his partner on...  and also continues to
look in Rey Dragon's direction, just in case.  Eddy goes to whip Oro
into the ringsteps...  BUT ORO REVERSES!!!  Oh, my!  Eddy went
head-first into the ringsteps, and Oro's back in control!  Oro tosses
Eddy back into the ring, and knocks him down with a forearm smash.
Oro's up top...  FLYING CROSS BODY PRESS!!!  The cover...  One...
two...  OH!  SO CLOSE!  TWO COUNT!  Oro isn't going to give up, and
he's signaling for the finish...  FRANKENSTEINER!!!  This is it!  The
cover...  One...  two...  THREE!!!  FOUR!  FIVE!  Where's the ref?
Oh...  Corino distracted the ref!  Corino looks to be in pain,
pointing at his side...  EDDY NAILS ORO FROM BEHIND WITH BRASS
KNUCKLES!!!  The ref didn't see it!  Rey Dragon runs in, but Eddy
clotheslines him out of the ring, and he heads up to the top rope...
This could be...  THE FROG SPLASH!!!  Corino is now miraculously
cured!  The cover...  One...  two...  THREE!!!  LOS NUEVOS GRINGOS
LOCOS TAKE IT!

Steve Corino and Eddy Guerrero defeated Brazo De Oro and Rey Dragon
when E. Guerrero pinned Oro with the Frog Splash in 0:10:36.

MATCH #4: Brazo Cibernetico and Negro Casas vs. Gran Apache and
Kickboxer - 2/3 FALL MATCH

First fall: Only clips were shown of the *long* first fall.  We saw
Casas and Apache go right at it before the opening bell, then we cut
to the end of the fall.  Brazo Ciber knocks a weakened Apache down
with a dropkick, but he only gets a two count.  Brazo Ciber runs off
the ropes and goes for a splash...  BUT APACHE GOT HIS KNEES UP!
Brazo Ciber was winded, and Apache took advantage, as he hit the
tecnico with a Hotshot, but Casas made the save during the pin
attempt. While Casas was restrained by Tirantes (who just *happened*
to be the referee assigned to the match), Kickboxer and Apache took
down Brazo Ciber with a double snap suplex, followed by a double
vertical suplex.  Apache hit the Fisherman Suplex, Tirantes turned
around to make the cover, and that was that.  Rudos win the first
fall.

Second fall: Oh, boy.  Casas runs right into the ring to attack Apache
at the start of the fall, but Tirantes warns Casas that he'll DQ him
for excessive violence.  So, it's Brazo Ciber and Apache.  Apache goes
right after Brazo Ciber's legs, clipping them from behind twice, then
locking on a figure-four leglock.  Brazo Ciber managed to reach the
ropes, however.  Apache then hits Brazo Ciber with a power bomb, but
gets another two count to show for it.  Brazo Ciber rolls up Apache
from behind for a two count, then scurries up to the top rope, but
he's punched in the stomach by Apache, who climbs up with him...
SUPERPLEX!!!  The cover...  CASAS WITH THE SAVE!  Apache makes the tag
to Kickboxer, who has Brazo Ciber set up...  SUPERKICK!!!  That should
be it...  BUT HE'S PICKING HIM UP AGAIN!!!  Apache grabs a chair, and
holds it in front of Brazo Ciber's face...  OH!!!  KICKBOXER
SUPERKICKED THE CHAIR INTO BRAZO CIBER'S FACE!!!  That's it!  Brazo
Ciber is busted wide open!  The cover...  CASAS WITH THE SAVE!  Now
Casas is taking down both rudos with jabs!  Tirantes tries to stop
him...  HE GETS DECKED!!!  Casas decked Tirantes!  DQ!  Rudos win it!

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Gran Apache and Kickboxer beat Brazo Cibernetico and Negro Casas 2
falls to 0:
x Apache beat B. Cibernetico via the Fisherman Suplex in 0:12:04
x Kickboxer beat B. Cibernetico via disqualification in 0:16:25
Rating: *

Casas chased the rudos out of the ring, then helped a bleeding,
semi-conscious Brazo Ciber to the back.  Tirantes slowly got up, and
rolled out of the ring.  He'd have to stay there, however.  The #1
Contender Battle Royal is next.

MAIN EVENT: Abismo Negro vs. Canek vs. Cibernetico vs. Octagon vs.
Pentagon vs. Perro Aguayo vs. Pierroth Jr. vs. Ultimo Dragon - Battle
Royal - #1 CONTENDER MATCH

This one was nuts.

Everyone pairs off.  Pierroth and Octagon, Perro and Abismo, Ciber and
Dragon, and Canek and Pentagon.  Pierroth actually attacked Octagon
when he entered the ring (he was the last to do so), and dropped a
knee right on his back!  Pierroth picked up Octagon, gave him a power
bomb, and tried to toss him...  NOT YET!  Pierroth goes for a
legsweep, but Octagon counters...  RUSSIAN LEGSWEEP!  WOW!  Octagon
goes for the Octaclutch, but Pierroth blocks it.  Meanwhile, Dragon
tries to dropkick Canek, but the experienced tecnico dodges the
attack.  Pentagon tries to enter this battle, but gets hit with a
double clothesline by the tecnicos!  Abismo manages to chop Dragon,
however.  Canek and Pentagon whip Dragon into the ropes, but he
counters with a double clothesline.  It's every man for himself here!
Dragon picks up Canek, and whips him into the ropes, but he gets taken
down with a flying cross body!  Canek tries to whip Dragon into the
ropes, but Dragon reverses it, and Canek goes flying over the top rope
to the floor!  CANEK IS OUT!

Down to 7 now.  Pentagon and Abismo Negro go at it, and Abismo
clotheslines Pentagon over the top rope, but he hangs on and stays in.
Now, Abismo thinks that Pentagon's eliminated, so he turns his back on
him, which wasn't wise.  Someone came out of the crowd, and attacked
Abismo from behind, sending him through the ropes!  Who is that???
Whoever it is, he's wearing a ski mask, and he just slammed Abismo
into the guardrail!  The man grabs Abismo, slams him to the ground,
and locks him in a Boston crab!  Abismo is screaming in pain...  AND
THE MASKED MAN RUNS OFF!!!  What was that?  Abismo slowly crawls into
the ring, but Octagon's waiting for him...  ABISMO'S TOSSED OVER THE
TOP ROPE!!!

Cibernetico sees this, and runs right at Octagon...  WHO BACKDROPS
CIBERNETICO ONTO ABISMO!!!  WHAT A MOVE!  CIBERNETICO'S OUT!  Ciber
and Abismo brawl to the back, as we're down to 5!

Octagon then grabs Dragon, and takes him down with a faceslam.
Dropkick by Octagon, and Dragon almost goes over the top!  Dragon
backdrops Octagon over the top, but Octagon lands on the apron,
springs off the ropes, and dives onto Dragon with a flying cross body!
Meanwhile, Pierroth had Pentagon set up for the PierrothBomb, but
Perro attacked Pierroth from behind.  While they were both leaning
against the ropes, Pentagon snuck up behind them and gave Perro a
light shove...  AND PIERROTH GOES OVER THE TOP ROPE!  We're down to 4!

Dragon, Pentagon, Octagon and Perro are left.  Pentagon goes nuts to
start off, taking all three tecnicos down with spin kicks.  Then, he
clotheslined Perro, followed by Octagon, followed by Dragon...  and
then a bodyslam on Perro for good measure.  In fact, Pentagon might
have won the match...  If not for two women coming down the aisle...
IT'S MISS JANETH AND XOCHITL HAMADA!!!

"You see, Xochitl?  This is all you have to do.  Just watch."

Huh?  Pentagon slams Perro again, and springs off the ropes...  ASAI
MOONSAULT!!!  Perro's going to be tossed!  Pentagon grabs him...
FAUL!  FAUL!  JANETH HIT PENTAGON WITH A FAUL!  Dragon runs over...
AND TOSSES PENTAGON!  WE'RE DOWN TO THREE TECNICOS!!!

"See, Xochitl?  That's all you have to do.  I told you so."

Down to three now, and we have a nice three-way dance brewing, as Blue
Demon Jr. pokes his head out from behind the curtains to watch.
Ultimo Dragon picks Octagon up for a bodyslam...  NO!  Octagon falls
onto Dragon, and grabs him...  OCTACLUTCH!!!  If he can keep this on,
Dragon will be tossed out for sure...  PERRO MAKES THE SAVE!  Now
Perro and Octagon are going at it, trading punches, until Perro locks
on an abdominal stretch...  DRAGON BREAKS IT!  Dragon limps back to
his feet, and breaks the hold!  Octagon runs at Dragon, and goes for a
flying cross body press, but Dragon rolls through, and when Octagon
gets up...  SPIN KICK!  Dragon grabs Octagon...  AND CHUCKS HIM!!!
WE'RE DOWN TO PERRO AGUAYO AND ULTIMO DRAGON!!!

Ultimo Dragon attacks Perro right away, taking him down with a
backbreaker.  10 seconds later, it's Perro who's on the attack,
knocking Octagon down with a backbreaker.  Senton by Perro, who's
signaling for his Double Stomp...  DRAGON ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!!!
Perro's shocked!  He grabs Dragon...  DRAGON SLEEPER!!!  Dragon's got
his famed finishing move locked on, but Perro pushes him into the
ropes!  Great back and forth battle here, as Dragon tries to suplex
Perro over the ropes...  BLOCKED!!!  Perro reverses positions, and
attempts the same move...  BLOCKED!!!  Dragon's leaning against the
ropes, and Perro runs at him...  Dragon kicks Perro in the face...
THEY'RE BOTH HANGING ON THE ROPES!!!  Both men are going to go over
the top!!!  Blue Demon Jr.'s watching...  Dragon's losing his grip...
So is Perro...  PERRO FALLS!!!  PERRO FALLS A SPLIT SECOND BEFORE
DRAGON DOES!!!  ULTIMO DRAGON IS THE #1 CONTENDER!!!

WOW!!!  Blue Demon Jr. looks shocked, as Dragon points at him,
motioning that he'll soon have the belt around *his* waist!  Perro
hugs Dragon, while Demon Jr. just stands at ringside, fuming, as the
show ends!
