AAA House Show (09/18/1999)

Just down the road from Nuevo Laredo, we're in Reynosa tonight.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Los Nuevos Power Rangers (Discovery, Super Nova II and Venum II) beat
Moto Cross, Shiiba and Abeja Africana 2 falls to 1:
x Discovery beat A. Africana via disqualification in 0:03:38
x Shiiba beat Nova II via a side step in 0:10:10
x Venum II beat A. Africana via a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:17:19
Rating: * 1/4

Not a bad opener.  Rudos got DQ'ed in the first fall for excessive
violence, and then won the second fall after Shiiba side-stepped a
Nova dropkick...  and got the pin!  Tecnicos needed to fight back, and
they did, with Venum getting the pin on Africana with a top-rope
Frankensteiner, while everyone else brawled on the outside.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Ayako Hamada and Chaparrita ASARI beat Xochitl Hamada and Miss Janeth
2 falls to 1:
x Miss Janeth beat ASARI via a flying bodypress in 0:18:31
x Hamada beat X. Hamada via a fisherman suplex in 0:19:49
x Hamada beat X. Hamada via the La Ayakiita in 0:28:10
Rating: * 1/2

Competitive, long match.  In the third fall, Xochitl had a foreign
object at hand, and she nailed Ayako with it for the pin.  HOWEVER,
Kaori Nakayama ran out and told the referee what happened, which
caused a restart.  Ayako quickly took the submission victory after
that with La Ayakiita.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Aguila, Magnum Tokyo, Rey Dragon and Heavy Metal beat Ultimo Guerrero,
Nemesis, Nygma and Steve Corino 2 falls to 1:
x U. Guerrero beat H. Metal via the Reverse Superplex in 0:11:03
x R. Dragon beat U. Guerrero via a Victory Roll in 0:13:09
x Aguila beat Nygma via a rana in 0:15:55
Rating: * 1/2

Disappointing match, considering that these 8 could probably do a lot
better.  Nice over-the-post plancha by Aguila on Corino during the
first fall, however.  A clean match, which saw Aguila pin Nygma with a
rana in the third and decisive fall, while Rey Dragon hit Nemesis with
a Stardust Press.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Los Vipers (Histeria and Maniaco) beat El Mosco and Brazo De Oro 2
falls to 1:
x Oro beat Maniaco via countout in 0:10:54
x Histeria beat Oro via the Vipersault in 0:17:18
x Histeria beat Oro via the Vipersault in 0:24:03
Rating: **

Match of the night.  Maniaco and Histeria walked out after the first
fall, giving the tecnicos a countout victory.  They attacked from
behind in the second fall, however, and Histeria had no problems
hitting Oro with a Vipersault for the pin.  Third fall saw much of the
same, with Histeria hitting the Vipersault on Oro for the pin, while
Mosco and Maniaco brawled on the outside.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Perro Aguayo and Negro Casas beat Sangre Chicana and Gran Apache 2
falls to 0:
x N. Casas beat Chicana via the Casita in 0:19:23
x N. Casas beat Apache via the Casita in 0:31:19
Rating: -*** 1/2

Um...  Casas got both pins with Casitas on Chicana and Apache, and
that's pretty much all I can say about this match, within reason.
These four could have done better.

Notes:

- Lots of moving to report from AAA.  Chikako Shiratori, Pantera and
Pierrothito have all left AAA, as the morale in the locker room
continues to affect the wrestlers.  As well, Super Crazzy has now gone
back to ECW.  Rumors have Shiratori possibly going to NJPW, and
Pantera being courted by ECW - however, those are only RUMORS.
- Steve Corino promised he'd be at Verano...  and he was.  Apparently,
Corino came to the arena to watch the War Games match, then he went
back to his hotel, smiling.  Odd...
- AAA officials are very pleased with the way Verano went.  However,
they did not like the Octagon vs. Pentagon match, for some reason.
The minis match earned high praise backstage, as did the Mosco vs.
Crazzy bout, and the main event.
- AAA is looking into various female wrestlers at this point.  One of
the names being tossed around backstage is Linda Star.
- Expect a big TV show this Wednesday, with some surprises.
