Avispa and Shiiba avenged
their loss at Triplemania by defeating Los
Payasos in three falls.
Shiiba took care of Azul with the Frog
Splash, but Los Payasos
stormed right back and took the second fall
with the Payaso Backbreaker.
Rojo was knocked off the top turnbuckle
in the third fall, and that
gave Shiiba the opportunity to put this
one away with a Frog Splash.
He didn't disappoint.
AAA TV is on the air!
What a night it was last week at Triplemania!
In case you missed it, here
are the brief results:
- In the opener, Xochitl
Hamada defeated Ayako Hamada.
- Tzuki and Pikachu took
care of Mini Mosco and Mini Psicosis in three
falls.
- Aguila and Mr. Niebla
swept Shiiba and Avispa, to retain the Mexican
National Tag Team Titles.
- In a phenomenal match,
Octagoncito defeated Mini Abismo in three
falls, to win the Mexican
National Minis Title.
- Negro Casas and the mystery
man, revealed as Gran Apache, fought to
a no-contest in a First
Blood Match after both wrestlers bled. Apache
attacked Casas after the
match.
- In a match that featured
some questionable calls by Tirantes, Los
Vipers defeated Los Vatos
Locos in a Falls-Count-Anywhere Match, to
win the Mexican National
Atomicos Tag Team Titles.
- For the first time in
almost 25 years, Perro Aguayo lost his hair,
and his Mexican National
Heavyweight Title, to Cibernetico in a Cage
Match.
- Octagon defeated Pentagon
in three falls, to capture Pentagon's mask
- or so he thought.
Pentagon unmasked to reveal Blue Demon Jr., and
the rudos attacked the tecnicos
from behind after the match, in a
shocking ending.
As for Octagon... He
just hasn't been the same. He refused to show
up at a AAA charity function
in Acapulco on Sunday, and wasn't seen...
until today.
Today, AAA held a press conference
to announce three major signings:
Ultimo Dragon, Magnum Tokyo,
and Pierroth Jr.. Dragon and Tokyo
expressed their eagerness
to work for AAA... but Pierroth wasn't so
cordial. First off,
he said that he only signed with AAA because they
were willing to pay him
the cash. Second off, he stated that he has
no allegiance with ANYONE
in AAA, including Los Vipers, Los Vatos
Locos, and Blue Demon Jr..
Finally, he stated that he doesn't want to
get stuck in opening matches,
and challenged anyone - he repeated,
ANYONE - to face him this
week on TV.
Pierroth Jr. can't watch his back.
Octagon ran out, and started
to pound away on Pierroth Jr.! Security
finally separated the two,
but not before Octagon yelled, "I ACCEPT!"
So, Pierroth Jr. will face
Octagon tonight, in the main event. Should
be a great match.
And then, there were a few little problems to clear up, as well.
Negro Casas hates Gran Apache.
Perro Aguayo is shocked
at Blue Demon Jr.'s actions.
Canek still hates Los Vipers.
So, ANOTHER match was signed
for tonight - Casas, Aguayo and Canek
taking on Apache, Demon
Jr., and Abismo Negro. However, this won't be
a normal match...
it'll be a Sudden Death Match! The rules are:
- Everyone has a Singapore
Cane/kendo stick.
- Anything goes.
- As soon as you hit your
finisher, you win the match for your team.
So, as soon as Demon Jr.
hits the Stunner, or Casas nails the Casita,
or Aguayo executes the Double
Stomp, or Canek hits hard with the Canek
Press, or Abismo flies through
the air with a Sky Flying Senton, or
Apache puts a tecnico through
a Fisherman Suplex - the match is over.
Got it? Good.
Plus, a six-mini Battle Royal
to determine the #1 Contender to
Octagoncito's Mexican National
Minis Title, Ultimo Dragon and Magnum
Tokyo in action, and so
much more! Let's head to the action!
Before we even started, we
took a look at the brackets for the Mexican
National Women's Title Tournament:
Chikako Shiratori - Alda
Moreno (06/30/1999)
Kaori Nakayama - Miss Janeth
(07/03/1999)
Martha Villalobos - Ayako
Hamada (07/03/1999)
Chaparrita ASARI - Xochitl
Hamada (06/30/1999)
The winners will fight in
the semi-finals, next week, and the finals
will be the week after.
One women will walk out of this... Queen.
MATCH #1 - Alda
Moreno vs. Chikako Shiratori - Mexican National
Women's Title
Tournament Match - ONE FALL, 10 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
This match was... nothing.
Shiratori took down Moreno with some hair
pulls early on. Moreno
countered with some of her own. Get the
picture? Things started
to pick up after a backspin DDT by Shiratori,
which got the crowd back
into it. Shiratori did look a little tired
after working a GDW show
the other day, so that could explain why she
doesn't look 100%.
Moreno caught Shiratori by surprise and planted
her with *two* Northern
Lights suplexes, but couldn't keep Shiratori
down! At this point,
anything Shiratori tried was either reversed or
countered, so she was in
trouble. Finally, Shiratori mounted some
offense with a bridging
back suplex, which got two. After a bodyslam,
Shiratori went for a Swinging
DDT, but Moreno countered with another
Northern Lights suplex,
and Shiratori *barely* kicked out! Moreno
signaled that it was time
to end this, but Shiratori reached into a
duffle bag at ringside...
what the hell? A large stick? OUCH!
Moreno received it right
in the head! The cover... One... two...
three. That seals
it. Chikako Shiratori advances to the semi-finals.
[Mexican
National Women's Title Tournament - Round 1]:
Chikako
Shiratori pinned Alda Moreno with her special move in 0:09:52.
Rating:

MATCH #2 - Chaparrita
ASARI vs. Xochitl Hamada - Mexican National
Women's Title
Tournament Match - ONE FALL, 10 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
Better than the last match.
ASARI and Hamada went at it like animals
in this one. A minute
in, ASARI went for a flying sunset flip, but
Xochitl cradled her for
a two count! Hamada then took the advantage
with a well-placed dropkick,
but couldn't keep ASARI down for long,
and fell victim to a springboard
rana! A normal rana followed, but
Xochitl placed her foot
on the ropes! ASARI attempted a moonsault
next, but Hamada had her
knees up, and winded ASARI. Hamada connected
with a German suplex, but
could only get two. That was all ASARI was
willing to take. On
the outside, she whipped Hamada into the
guardrail, tossed her back
into the ring, and connected with a flying
legdrop! Xochitl...
wasn't getting up. One Skytwister Press later,
we knew of another woman
who would advance to the semi-finals.
[Mexican
National Women's Title Tournament - Round 1]:
Chaparrita
ASARI pinned Xochitl Hamada with the Skytwister Press in
0:08:10.

And now, the semi-final pairings look like this:
Chikako Shiratori - Kaori
Nakayama/Miss Janeth
Martha Villalobos/Ayako
Hamada - Chaparrita ASARI
MATCH #3: BATTLE
ROYAL - Winner gets Mexican National Minis Title Shot
Participants:
Tzuki, Pikachu, La Parkita, Pierrothito (AAA Debut),
Mini Mosco De
La Merced, Mini Psicosis
Simple. The winner
becomes the #1 Contender for the Mexican National
Minis Title. Let's
get to it.
Everyone went after everyone
at the start, which resulted in the
unlikely pairing of Tzuki
and Pikachu. Pikachu couldn't measure up to
Tzuki tonight. A nice
spinning headscissor takedown, followed up by a
rana, pretty much took all
the electricity out of Pikachu. He did
attempt a dropkick, but
missed by a good couple of feet. It was easy
pickings for Pikachu after
that.
x Tzuki threw out Pikachu after a side step in 0:01:10
Things got really hairy after
this. La Parkita and Pierrothito went
at it lucha style, but Los
Mini Vipers, still angry at their loss to
Tzuki at Triplemania, double-teamed
Tzuki! Tzuki didn't stand much of
a chance, and maybe he's
regretting tossing Pikachu out of the Battle
Royal. After Pierrothito
took down La Parkita with a bodyslam, it
soon became a 3-on-1!
After a double spinning leg lariat, poor Tzuki
was finally tossed out of
the ring. We're down to 4!
x Mini Psicosis threw out Tzuki in 0:05:38
Yes, and as soon as the rudos
tossed Tzuki, Mini Mosco and Mini Psic
turned on Pierrothito!
La Parkita ended up making the save, but ended
up stuck with Mini Mosco.
The mini rudo opened up on La Parkita with
a series of chops and punches,
but La Parkita fired right back with
some rights of his own.
After a spinning backbreaker by Parkita, Mini
Mosco decided to lean on
the ropes to relax. Stupid move! La Parkita
grabbed Mini Mosco...
and nailed him with a waistlock suplex that
sent Mini Mosco to the outside!
We're down to three!
x Parkita threw out Merced after a waistlock suplex in 0:09:59
And, to continue the trend,
Pierrothito turned on Parkita after that
elimination! La Parkita
did pretty well against Pierrothito, taking
him down with two ranas
in succession, but after he missed a
moonsault bodyblock, it
was all but over. Pierrothito just had to
pick up Parkita, and we
were down to two rudos!
x Pierrothito threw out Parkita in 0:12:13
This was quick. Pierrothito
tried to whip Mini Psic into the corner,
but Mini Psic reversed it,
and followed in with a clothesline. Mini
Psic tossed Pierrothito
into the other corner... clothesline! Mini
Psic grabbed Pierrothito,
and put him in position for a Splash
Mountain, but Pierrothito
countered with an elbowsmash! And another!
And another! Mini
Psicosis is taken by the collar... and he's gone!
Pierrothito wins!
x Pierrothito threw out Mini Psicosis after an elbowsmash in 0:13:04

faces Octagoncito for the Minis Title]:

MATCH #4: Ultimo
Dragon and Magnum Tokyo (AAA Debut) vs. Mosco De La
Merced and Psicosis
(Los Vipers) - 2/3 FALLS
Dragon and his young student,
Magnum Tokyo, debuted tonight against
the experienced, but still
young, team of Mosco and Psic. First fall
saw Tokyo and Dragon get
a feel to life in AAA, as all four
participants worked primarily
on the mat - but Dragon wasn't afraid to
go airborne with his Asai
moonsault, either. Tokyo looked a little
out of place early on, but
quickly adjusted. Mosco missed a slingshot
somersault splash on Dragon,
and that gave the masked one the
opportunity he needed to
hit his famous Dragon Sleeper! Mosco tapped
as if his life depended
on it.
Second fall was short and
sweet. Dragon was trapped on the outside by
Mosco, and while the referee
was distracted, Mosco hit the low blow!
(#1 of the night)
After a power bomb to the mat, Mosco hit his Flying
Senton, to give Los Vipers
the second fall.
Third fall saw Mosco and
Psic double-team Dragon for almost the whole
fall, with Tokyo being cut
off every time he tried to make the save.
Finally, Tokyo busted through
and saved Dragon after Psicosis
connected with his dangerous
Flying Legdrop. Tokyo grabbed Psicosis
and set him up...
VIAG(a)RA DRIVER! Tokyo climbed up top... Here we
go! AV STAR PRESS!
Mosco rushed over to make the save... DRAGON
SLEEPER! Mosco had
no place to go, and submitted before Tokyo could
pin Psic!

MATCH #5: Perro
Aguayo, Canek and Negro Casas vs. Gran Apache, Abismo
Negro and Blue
Demon Jr. - SUDDEN DEATH MATCH
We know the rules, so let's get right to it.
It was a bit of a surprise
to see Pentagon come out, and tell the
tecnicos that Demon Jr.
has a surprise for them next week. Then,
Pentagon casually mentioned
that Demon Jr. wasn't in the building
tonight, after a huge party
that he threw the other night. (Gee, I
wonder who was invited?)
So, Pentagon volunteered to take Demon Jr.'s
place.
And no, Pentagon didn't have
Demon Jr.'s mask on. This *was* the real
deal.
So, it wasn't a big surprise
when all the tecnicos nailed Apache with
the canes first, then Pentagon,
then Negro. Casas paired off with
Apache, Pentagon and Perro
went at it, and Canek and Abismo brawled on
the outside. Don't
forget, the first wrestler to successfully hit his
finisher wins it for his
team. Luckily, every wrestler didn't just go
for their finishers for
the hell of it. A lot of caning to start off,
with Perro getting busted
open on his shiny head, and Apache
eventually getting overtaken
by Casas. Around three minutes in,
Abismo went up top for his
Sky Flying Senton, but missed Canek! Canek
went for the Canek Press,
but Apache cut him off at the pass, and
nailed Canek with a power
bomb. Meanwhile, Perro was dominating
Pentagon inside the ring,
choking him out after a senton. Apache and
Abismo snuck up behind Perro,
however, and caned him right in the
back! However, while
Tropicasas was checking on Canek on the outside,
Apache hit the Fisherman
Suplex! It would be over, but Tropicasas
didn't turn around in time!
Apache was furious, and let Tropicasas
hear it, but while all this
was going on, Perro bodyslammed Abismo,
and connected with the Double
Stomp! The tecnicos win!
[Sudden
Death Match]: Singapore Cane Match:
Perro
Aguayo, Negro Casas and Canek defeated Gran Apache, Pentagon and
Abismo
Negro when Perro defeated A. Negro with the Double Stomp in
0:10:04.
Rating:

(Blue
Demon Jr. no-showed.)
The rudos were outraged,
and in all honesty, they *should* have won,
but maybe this was Tropicasas'
way of getting back at the rudos after
what happened at Triplemania.
Only time will tell.
MAIN EVENT: Octagon vs. Pierroth Jr. - 2/3 FALLS
In a neat twist, Pierroth
Jr. came out to the WWF's Brawl For All
music. Strange...
Anyways, these two just stared
down... and locked up. In the first
fall, a lot of time was
spent brawling on the floor. Pierroth showed
why he was the superior
brawler, by sending Octagon flying head-first
into the ringsteps!
That, and a lot of power moves on the outside
helped, too. Still,
Octagon managed to keep things even, although not
the way he would have liked
to. Octagon ended up using various
submission moves to keep
Pierroth grounded. Finally, Octagon managed
to knock down Pierroth with
the Russian legsweep, then the Octaclutch!
Pierroth gave up, and Octagon
won fall one!
Fall two was a different
story. Pierroth grabbed Octagon (who was, by
this time, busted open),
and, with ease, sent him down with a choke
slam! Wow! Pierroth
then picked up Octagon... PIERROTHBOMB!
Octagon landed on his head!
The cover... and that would do it. Fall
two is awarded to Pierroth.
Octagon was clearly hurting
in fall three. He just got dropped on his
head, he was bleeding from
the forehead... not a pretty sight. But
he kept fighting, and you
have to give him credit for that. Still,
even though Octagon had
a chance, his hopes were quickly dashed when
Pentagon and Cibernetico
ran to the ring. While Ciber distracted the
referee, Pentagon hit Octagon
with a chair on... you guessed it...
the injured head!
Octagon was rolling on the ground, in obvious pain!
Pierroth gave a glare to
the Viper(s?), and PierrothBombed Octagon.
That did it.

Afterwards, Pierroth complained
to Ciber and Pentagon about
interfering in the match.
"It was *my* match! I was going to win it!
What the hell did you think
you were doing?" Ciber was quick to
respond, "Don't worry, Pierroth.
Don't worry. We did what we had to
do." That didn't satisfy
Pierroth, and he left the ring, glaring at
Pentagon and Ciber all the
way. Both rudos huddled, then chased after
Pierroth, trying to get
his attention. That didn't work.
Meanwhile, Octagon left by
his own power, with a towel on his head.
He was semi-running to the
back, just in case he could catch... um...
Pentagon, I guess.
Let's face it. We know
Pierroth is NOT tecnico. But in a fight
against Pentagon or Ciber...
who would the fans cheer for?
Your guess is as good as mine.
