Nino
De La Calle and Pantera defeated Angel Mortal and El Cobarde when Pantera
pinned A. Mortal with the Super Top-Rope Frankensteiner in 0:10:48.
Rating:
-**
To put it simply, ugh. Cobarde was just dreadful tonight, dragging the match down by locking on several drab submission moves onto the tecnicos, keeping them grounded for the most part. Pantera finally hit the Super Top-Rope Frankensteiner on Mortal, and I'm sure we just wanted to crawl under a hole and die. Horrible opener.
Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you to AAA TV for Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Before we start tonight's show, we'd like to say a few words about a man many of you at home may remember as the Blue Blazer. Owen Hart tragically passed away this past Sunday, at a WWF Pay-Per-View event in Kansas City. Hart, one of the members of the Hart family of Calgary, Canada, spent some time down here in Mexico as the Blazer, and eventually lost his mask to Canek. Hart wowed the crowds in the WWF with his distinct style of fighting, and won over many fans. He will sorely be missed.
(A picture of Owen Hart, after he was unmasked as the Blue Blazer, is shown. A bell rings 10 times, and we fade to black, going to commercial.)
When we come back...
We go to last week's Ludxor vs. Sangre Chicana match, and view the finish, where Latin Lover superkicked Chicana on the outside, and caused a countout finish. Therefore, there will be a 15-man Mexican Light Heavyweight Title Battle Royal here tonight! The participants are: Abeja Africana, Aguila, Avispa, Heavy Metal, Histeria (Los Vipers), La Parka Jr., Latin Lover, Ludxor, Maniaco (Los Vipers), Mascara Sagrada Jr., Mr. Niebla, Octagon, Pentagon, Sangre Chicana, and Venum II.
MATCH #1: Coco Amarillo, Coco Azul and Coco Rojo (Los Payasos) vs. Charly Manson, Kickboxer and Shiiba - 2/3 FALLS
To put it in one word... DOMINATION. Get the picture? Every time Los Payasos tried to gain the advantage, Manson and Kickboxer held them back. Shiiba started off pretty evenly with Coco Amarillo, but then the rudos kicked it into gear. Kickboxer and Manson were double-teaming Coco Rojo at every opportunity, with Los Payasos getting knocked down every time they rushed to make the save. Finally, after Manson and Kickboxer hit a double clothesline, Rojo went down to the Superkick to end the first fall. But the rudos weren't done yet! Manson and Kickboxer were choking Rojo, and weren't letting go! But what could the referee do? Nothing, because he was busy watching Shiiba hit Azul and Amarillo with a double low blow! The referee ejected Shiiba from the match! Still, that pretty much sealed the deal for the rudos. Kickboxer sent a beaten Rojo down to the mat with a powerslam, and Manson followed up with his Flying Legdrop. The pinfall was a formality.

MATCH #2: Alda Moreno, Ayako Hamada and Chaparrita ASARI vs. Miss Janeth, Xochitl Hamada (Las Bruias) and Martha Villalobos - 2/3 FALLS
17-year old rookie Ayako Hamada has been "poached" from ARSION in Japan, and ASARI has signed with AAA to a lucrative deal. Xochitl and Ayako share a tense face-off before the match gets underway. First fall was good, but that was because Martha didn't get tagged in. Ayako almost pinned Xochitl with a rana, but Alda came in, was distracted by the returning Janeth, and then... kick to the midsection, Blockbuster Suplex (fisherman suplex), see you later. Rudos take the first fall. Second fall wasn't so good, because Martha was tagged in. Ayako was nailed with Martha's Splash, but ASARI managed to make the save. ASARI then squared off against Janeth, and the cagey ruda thought she had ASARI put away after a low blow, but ASARI shook it off, and after a clothesline, hit her lovely Skytwister Press to tie things up. Same two people were in for the third fall, and Janeth didn't have much of a chance. Ayako and Alda hit Janeth with a double snap suplex, and then hit twin planchas onto Martha and Xochitl! ASARI was waiting for Janeth, and hit a Frankensteiner from the top rope for the tecnicas to take the win.

MATCH #3: Discovery and Cadaver De Ultratomba vs. Heavy Dracula and Nemesis - 2/3 FALLS
Rivals Cadaver and Nemesis were facing each other here, and this one was ugly... fast. Well... not really fast. The first 20 minutes of the match were cut out because of time constraints, but they were pretty hot, in terms of action. First fall came when Discovery was ready to put Nemesis away with a Cadet Clutch, but Nemesis hit a blatant low blow, causing the instant DQ. Second fall was a little more interesting, as Cadaver and Nemesis brawled, and that ended up with Dracula, in a sick spot, hitting Cadaver with a chair when his head was on the guardrail! OUCH! Dracula then easily leveled Cadaver with a power bomb for the three count. It looked bleak for Discovery in the third fall, as the rudos were dominating him, until Cadaver smacked Nemesis with the chair! Dracula clotheslined him out, but Discovery locked on the Cadet Clutch, and Nemesis had nowhere to go!

After the match, Nemesis grabbed the mic:
"Hey! Sh*thead!"
I guess he's addressing Cadaver.
"Yeah, you! I am sick and tired of you walking around here, thinking you're the cock of the f'n walk! Next week! Me! You! The loser LEAVES AAA! What do you say about that?" (boos)
Cadaver grabbed a second mic:
"First off... It's plain to see that you're the sh*thead." (pop) "You want a match like that next week? You got it!"
Wow! Cadaver vs. Nemesis next week, with the loser leaving AAA!
(You can guess that SOMEONE didn't sign their contract...)
MATCH #4: Mexican National Light Heavyweight Title Match - 15-MAN BATTLE ROYAL
Before the match, Pentagon grabbed the mic:
"Octagon. Yeah, I'm talking to you. I know you want this (points to mask), but you know that I want that (points to Octagon's mask). It's time. It's time for us to have a mask vs. mask match." (pop)
Octagon then speaks:
"Hm... Seems like you're a little too eager to have this match, Pentagon. What's up?"
"Nothing, Octagon. I'm just dying to finally unmask you, and prove to the whole lucha world that you're a coward, a loser, and that you still have that acne from high school."
"Your sense of humor sucks, Pentagon." (pop) "I'll see you soon."
"The pleasure's all mine, Octagon. The pleasure's all mine... (laughter)"
Well... all I can say is that it's about time.
All 15 participants patiently waited for the bell, and off we went. Didn't take too long for us to get out first elimination, as Histeria and Maniaco double-teamed Chicana, and tossed him out, ensuring a new champion!
x Histeria threw out Chicana after a chokehold in 0:04:33
Then, Venum II was doing fine, until Maniaco hit him with the Flying Dropkick. Avispa took advantage, and slapped him out of the ring.
x Avispa threw out Venum II after a slap in 0:09:55
Meanwhile, Sagrada Jr. tried to rana Metal out of the ring, but he was too smart for that. The rana was blocked, and Sagrada Jr. was sent flying over the top.
x H. Metal threw out Sagrada Jr. in 0:12:19
Latin Lover wasn't quite himself tonight. He was wrestling with more intensity, and was a tad reckless. Still, he whipped Abeja into the ropes, and then hit a backdrop. See ya.
x L. Lover threw out A. Africana after a backdrop in 0:14:40
Some rudos then went at it, as Histeria and Pentagon brawled. Maniaco joined in, and we had a brawl on our hands. Los Vipers proved to be too much for Pentagon, but Latin Lover... made the save??? While this went on, Histeria easily backdropped Pentagon out of the ring.
x Histeria threw out Pentagon after a backdrop in 0:20:44
But then, Lover clotheslined Maniaco, and quickly tossed him!
x L. Lover threw out Maniaco in 0:21:04
After this, things slowed down a bit. Octagon, tired, was tossed by Histeria rather easily.
x Histeria threw out Octagon in 0:26:02
A little later on, Aguila managed to knock down Parka Jr. with a great corkscrew moonsault, and toss him!
x Aguila threw out Parka Jr. in 0:31:14
Ludxor was the rightful winner of the Light Heavyweight Title match this weekend. He certainly looked like a champion here. He ducked two clotheslines by Aguila, and then hit a great dropkick, which sent Aguila up... and over.
x Ludxor threw out Aguila in 0:32:07
There's only 6 guys left - Avispa, Heavy Metal, Histeria, Latin Lover, Ludxor, and Mr. Niebla. Niebla paired off with Metal, and was a little overawed by the luchador. Still, Niebla was fighting for pride here, and this did it. He hit Metal with a sunset flip, and then when Metal got up, he was sent over by Niebla and Ludxor!
x Mr. Niebla threw out H. Metal after a sunset flip in 0:38:18
Ludxor and Lover locked up next, and Lover actually choked Ludxor at one point! Ludxor was ready to toss Avispa after a missile dropkick, but Avispa took care of that with a LOW BLOW!!! Ludxor goes up... and over! 4 guys left!
x Avispa threw out Ludxor in 0:40:29
Lover thanked Avispa, but got hit with a low blow as well, and fell over the top rope!
x Avispa threw out L. Lover in 0:40:44
The rudos huddled together, and decided that they would work together to take care of Mr. Niebla. It worked... to an extent. After a double clothesline, both rudos tried to toss Niebla, but he landed on the ring apron, and rolled back in! Avispa was shocked, and Histeria made him pay! One spin kick to the head, and Avispa was ready to be tossed... and that happened pretty quickly.
x Histeria threw out Avispa in 0:46:35
Histeria turned around, and Niebla was waiting for him. Histeria was nailed with multiple kicks to the head and ribs, and after a Swinging DDT, Niebla tried to toss Histeria... but he held onto the ropes! Frustrated, Niebla went for a moonsault, but crashed down in the center of the ring! Histeria placed Niebla on the ropes, and clotheslined him over!!! HISTERIA WINS!!! LOS VIPERS!!!

MAIN EVENT: Canek, Perro Aguayo and Negro Casas vs. Abismo Negro, ELectro Shock and Mosco De La Merced (Los Vipers) - ONE FALL
Well, this wouldn't take too long to erupt into another brawl.
Casas and Shock started off, and Shock thought he had an early pin with a power bomb, but Casas powered out. Shock tagged in Abismo, who made sure Casas wouldn't try a stunt like that again with some chokeholds and dropkicks, and then went for a pin with a sitdown power bomb, but only got two. Casas managed to tag in Canek, who knocked down all three Vipers with punches, and hit Mosco and Shock with a double headsmash. Perro was tagged in, and he and Canek hit Abismo with a double clothesline, then a double bodyslam. Shock came in, and flew right into a Canek Press! Perro then signaled for the Double Stomp, but Mosco rolled Shock out of the way! Shock took some time to recover, but hit Perro with a series of kicks, culminating with a dropkick. However, this put Perro in position to tag in Canek, and he did! Mosco was then tagged in, and the two engaged in a chop contest, won by Canek. Canek hit an armdrag takedown on Mosco, as Cibernetico, Histeria, Maniaco and Psicosis made their ways to ringside. This is where everything went out of control. Canek accidentally whipped Mosco into the referee, and Los Vipers ran into the ring! It was a 7-3 affair, and the tecnicos just couldn't hold up. At one point, Cibernetico yanked Canek's mask off! Canek ran out of the ring, covering his face, and Cibernetico and Maniaco went after him. Casas was holding up well against Histeria, but a low blow caused him to roll onto the outside, and Psic almost broke his neck with a Flying Legdrop! This left Perro against Mosco in the end, when the referee woke up. Poor, POOR Perro. Mosco hit his Flying Somersault Splash onto Perro to start off, but didn't make the pin. Then, an Asai moonsault. No pinfall again. Next, he tossed Perro outside the ring, and jumped onto him with a tope suicida! Next? A flying senton, and then a regular senton. STILL no cover. Mosco drags Perro onto the outside, and smashes his face into the guardrail not once, or twice, but three times! At this point, the referee's ready to DQ Mosco on the excessive violence rule. Mosco, sensing this, locked on an armbar. Perro wasn't moving, so the bell was rung.
Los
Vipers (Mosco De La Merced, Abismo Negro and Electro Shock) defeated Canek,
Negro Casas and Perro Aguayo when Merced made Perro Sr. submit to an armbar
submission in 0:18:30.
Rating:

Afterwards, Mosco wasn't done. He draped Perro across the corner, in a Tree of Woe position, and busted him open with a baseball slide! Perro was lying there, and needed to be stretchered out. Mosco left, celebrating.
I can't wait to see what Los Vipers have planned next... I also can't wait for a preliminary card for Triplemania to be announced, because I think that Los Vipers are going to have hell to pay there. Perro and Canek are NOT chicken.
