AAA House Show (05/22/1999)

(Another one of "those" cards - some good matches near the end, but as
for the rest... *shudder*)

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Mr. Niebla, Pantera and Discovery beat Avispa, Charly Manson and
Nemesis 2 falls to 1:
x Mr. Niebla beat Nemesis via an inside cradle in 0:06:42
x C. Manson beat Mr. Niebla via a power bomb in 0:12:34
x Pantera beat C. Manson via a German suplex in 0:13:23
Rating: * 1/2

This was an OK opener.  Seems that Avispa was somewhat lost in the
ring tonight, which hurt this one.  Niebla won the first fall by
reversing a Nemesis power bomb into an inside cradle for the pin.
Second fall saw Niebla strutting his stuff against Manson, but that
didn't last for long.  Manson reversed a rana into a power bomb for
the three count.  Third fall was quick.  Manson downed Niebla with a
spinning leg lariat, but Niebla was in perfect position to tag Pantera
in.  Manson begged off, but Pantera would have none of that, and after
a Niebla dropkick, Pantera hooked Manson up and hit a German suplex
for the win.

Ludxor defeated Sangre Chicana by countout in 0:12:11.
Rating: -* 3/4
(Sangre Chicana retained the Mexican National Light Heavyweight
Title.)

WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A WINNER!!! :)  Seriously, Ludxor was just
flying in this one.  Of course, when you're in the ring against
Chicana, you, at least, have to look good.  Ludxor kept taking Chicana
down with flying headscissors, but couldn't keep him down.  The finish
thankfully, and surprisingly, came when Ludxor tossed Chicana out of
the ring, and Latin Lover came out of nowhere and pasted Chicana with
a superkick!  Ludxor didn't know what happened - all he knew was that
he won the match by countout, but Chicana remains the Mexican National
Light Heavyweight Champion.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Octagon, La Parka Jr. and Aguila beat Abeja Africana, Heavy Dracula
and Pentagon 2 falls to 1:
x Octagon beat A. Africana via the Octaclutch in 0:13:26
x Pentagon beat Octagon via the Asai Moonsault in 0:34:10
x Aguila beat A. Africana via a Frankensteiner from the top rope in
0:45:53
Rating: 1/2*

Really disappointing match.  It had so much potential, but...  First
fall was all rudos, until Octagon caught his second wind.  Abeja went
into the guardrail twice, and was then locked in the Octaclutch, and
couldn't get out.  Second fall was long and tiring, especially when
Dracula was in and kept Aguila down for 4 minutes with rest holds.
Fans were about ready to riot at that point, but had a reason to cheer
when Octagon and Pentagon were in.  Octagon had the upper hand, but
out of nowhere, Pentagon hit an Asai moonsault for the three count!
Then, Pentagon yanked Octagon's mask off!  Octagon rolled around on
the mat, hiding his face, until Aguila handed Octagon the mask.  Then,
Octagon put the mask on and sprinted towards Pentagon, who ran to the
back, with Octagon in hot pursuit.  Third fall had Aguila and Abeja go
at it in the end, and Aguila went for the 450 Splash, but Abeja rolled
away!  Aguila wouldn't give up, however, and after La Parka Jr. helped
out, Aguila managed to hit a Frankensteiner from the top rope for the
win.

Los Vipers (Mosco De La Merced and Abismo Negro) defeated Venum II and
Nino De La Calle when Merced pinned Calle with the Flying Somersault
Splash in 0:13:46.
Rating: * 3/4
(Los Vipers (Mosco De La Merced and Abismo Negro) retained the Mexican
National Tag Team Titles.)

Put it this way - it was a good match, but we all knew who was going
to win.  At one point, Abismo had Nino set up for a Tombstone, but
Venum II managed to make the save!  In one of the highlights of the
match, Nino hit a handspring blind tope onto Mosco, and almost got the
upset!  However, after missing a shoulderblock, Nino was prime
pickings for a Flying Somersault Splash, and Los Vipers retain.  Venum
II rushed Abismo Negro after the match, but got outmatched by Los
Vipers.

Elimination Match:
Los Vipers (Psicosis, Histeria and Maniaco) beat
Negro Casas, Heavy Metal and Mascara Sagrada Jr. 3 falls to 2:
x Psicosis beat H. Metal via the Flying Legdrop in 0:08:56
x Sagrada Jr. beat Maniaco via an inside cradle in 0:23:56
x Psicosis beat N. Casas via the Flying Legdrop in 0:29:14
x Sagrada Jr. beat Psicosis via a flying cross body press in 0:31:52
x Histeria beat Sagrada Jr. via an abdominal stretch in 0:39:56
Survivors: Histeria
Rating: **

Long elimination match.  Los Vipers dominated the early portions, and
knocked off Heavy Metal after Psic's Flying Legdrop.  Mascara Sagrada
Jr. fought back for his team, and was on fire tonight.  After Psic
missed a flying senton, Maniaco ran in to help, but Sagrada Jr. rolled
him up out of nowhere to make it a 2-on-2!  In the third fall, Casas
went for a tope, but ended up going right into the guardrail!  Psic
hauled him in and hit another Flying Legdrop for the pin.  However,
Psic wasn't expecting Sagrada Jr. to be such a resilient opponent, and
after missing a clothesline, Psic flew right into a flying cross body
press to make it a 1-on-1!  Sagrada Jr. vs. Histeria!  And these two
had a great sequence together, but Mascara went for a power bomb a
little too early...  and Histeria hit a sitdown faceslam!  Sagrada Jr.
was knocked out, and Histeria locked on an abdominal stretch, and the
ref rang the bell right away!  LOS VIPERS!!!  Histeria celebrated as
the show ended, and Los Vipers stormed the ring to celebrate and mouth
off at the fans.
