AAA TV Show (01/21/2000)

(I hate the first week of college. :)  Very quick card here (save for
the main event), but this week's card should (no promises, but should)
be out this weekend.  Then, I update the web site.  Simple.)

[Dark Match]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Rie Tamada and Linda Star beat Kaori Nakayama and Ayako Hamada 2 falls
to 1:
x L. Star beat K. Nakayama via a rana in 0:12:58
x Hamada beat L. Star via a sunset flip in 0:17:31
x R. Tamada beat K. Nakayama via the Dragon Suplex in 0:22:17
Rating: **

Second best match of the night.  All ladies tried hard, and Tamada
scored another pinfall over Nakayama in the end with her dreaded
Dragon Suplex finisher.  Linda Star looks like she'll be given a
long-term AAA contract soon.

Welcome to (the really, really, *really* short version of) AAA TV,
once again coming from Juarez, Mexico!  Tonight, we determine who will
face Blue Demon Jr. for the Mexican National Heavyweight Title at Rey
De Reyes, the next big AAA event coming up in March.  The annual Reina
De Reinas show will be held as a regular TV show in February.  As
well, Shiiba has been *ordered* by Gran Apache to take out Negro
Casas, so tonight, those two will meet in a Dungeon Match...  Ooh.
Winner is in tonight's Royal Rumble, and the loser doesn't even get
some nice parting gifts - he isn't wrestling any more tonight.  So,
Shiiba knows that he'll be in *really* deep trouble if he loses this
one...  But the matches keep getting harder and harder.  Anyways,
let's head to the ring.

MATCH #1: Mini Discovery, Mini Ludxor and Pikachu vs. Mewtwo, Mini
Abismo Negro and Mini Psicosis - ONE FALL

The entire AAA Minis Division squared off in this match.  One way of
looking at this one would be that Pikachu and Mewtwo brawled, while
Mini Discovery and Mini Ludxor squared off with Mini Abismo and Mini
Psicosis, making this a 2-on-2 tag match, to be honest.  Some nice
moves were exchanged by the two teams in the first minute, with Mini
Ludxor and Mini Discovery hitting twin planchas on the rudos.
However, this match soon disintegrated into a brawl, and it wasn't an
exciting one, either.  Mostly punches and kicks by all six minis,
until just Pikachu and Mewtwo were left in the ring.  Once that
happened, Pikachu hit a power bomb and a clothesline on Mewtwo, then
climbed up top for the Pika-Sault...  I DON'T THINK SO!  Mini Psicosis
dropkicked Pikachu off the top rope, then waited a second...  FLYING
LEGDROP!  One...  two...  THREE!!!  Mini Psicosis has pinned Pikachu!

Mini Abismo Negro, Mewtwo and Mini Psicosis defeated Mini Discovery,
Mini Ludxor and Pikachu when Mini Psicosis pinned Pikachu with the
Flying Legdrop in 0:07:05.
Rating: 1/4*

After the match, Mini Psicosis waited for Mewtwo to get up, then said
that since *he* scored the pinfall in the match, *he* should get a
Mexican National Minis Title shot next week.  Mewtwo thought about it,
then told *he* to kiss his ass, in lack of a better term.  This then
caused Mini Psicosis to jump Mewtwo, and Mini Abismo had to break the
little ruckus up.

MATCH #2: Negro Casas vs. Shiiba - DUNGEON MATCH
(Note: The winner will earn the fifteenth slot in the main event Royal
Rumble, while the loser doesn't even take part.)

OK...  This sucked.  You either won by pinfall, submission, or sending
your opponent to the floor.  Not a bad concept...  But when it's in a
90 second match...  Anyways, they lock up, and Shiiba chops Casas
twice in the chest, then quickly celebrates, getting floored with a
clothesline.  Shiiba gets up, kicks Casas in the stomach, and hits a
double underhook suplex.  Nice.  Shiiba then tries to toss Casas
through the ropes, but no matter *how* hard he tries, he can't do it.
Sad.  Anyways, Shiiba then goes for a European uppercut, but Casas
counters with a backslide.  Casas then locks on a scorpion deathlock,
and poor Shiiba's screaming in pain, but he makes it to the ropes.  No
matter, as Casas kicks Shiiba a few times, then clotheslines him right
over the top rope, and onto the floor.  Nice to see you, thanks for
playing, go see what Apache and Shocker think of you now.

[Dungeon Match]: No-Countout-No-DQ-2-Man Battle Royal:
Negro Casas won a 2-man Battle Royal:
x N. Casas threw out Shiiba after a clothesline in 0:01:27
Rating: * 1/2

90 seconds...  Pathetic.  As Shiiba made his way to the back, he was
confronted by Gran Apache, who looked so pissed off it wasn't even
funny.  Well...  maybe it was.  In any event, many words were
exchanged, which culminated in Apache yelling at Shiiba, "FINAL
CHANCE!".  Apparently, Shiiba has one *final* chance to stay in
Apache's good graces, or they can't go out and party...  I mean...  Be
in Apache's group anymore.  OK...

MATCH #3: Heavy Metal, Magnum Tokyo and Matt Hardy vs. Moto Cross,
Sangre Chicana and Shocker - ONE FALL

Hm...  This match wasn't so bad, but it really wasn't that great,
either.  The main story revolving around this match was that the rudos
*constantly* ganged up on Tokyo.  I mean, *constantly*  Tokyo must
have been in that ring for the first six minutes, taking quite a bit
of punishment from Moto Cross, Chicana and Shocker.  However, he
always seemed to fight back in quick spurts, but the rudos would
always retake the advantage every single time.  So, we had around
1,000 members of the Juarez chapter of the Magnum Tokyo Fan Club storm
out of the arena, very frustrated and fed up.  Ironically, just after
this happened, Tokyo nailed Chicana with a wicked Swinging DDT, and
made the tag to Heavy Metal.  Metal came out on fire, knocking
everyone down with clotheslines, and hitting Shocker with the Casita,
but Chicana ran over and made the save with a kick to the back of the
head.  While all six men brawled in the ring, Chicana managed to get
Heavy Metal in position for the Kata Hajime...  Oops, wrong
wrestler...  Chicana Special, and with everyone else occupied, Heavy
Metal had no choice but to submit to the hold, giving the match to the
rudos!

Shocker, Sangre Chicana and Moto Cross defeated Matt Hardy, Magnum
Tokyo and Heavy Metal when Chicana made H. Metal submit to the Chicana
Special in 0:08:49.

MAIN EVENT: 15-Man Royal Rumble - WINNER RECEIVES A MEXICAN NATIONAL
HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE SHOT AT REY DE REYES

Participants: Abismo Negro, Aguila, Black Warrior, Electro Shock, El
Hijo Del Santo, Felino, Gran Apache, Histeria, Jerry Estrada, Negro
Casas, Octagon, Pentagon, Perro Aguayo, Rey Misterio Jr. and Ultimo
Guerrero.

x B. Warrior and Misterio Jr. started out.

Black Warrior draws #1, and Misterio draws #2.  Both men lock up right
away, and Misterio tries to toss Warrior over the top rope, but fails,
and Warrior uses the momentum to try and take Misterio over the top...
NO WAY!  Misterio slides back in, and actually slides under Warrior...
DROPKICK FROM BEHIND!  Warrior goes over...  He's hanging on...  BUZZ!

x Electro Shock entered at 0:01:00

Electro Shock attacks Misterio from behind, allowing Warrior to land
on the apron and roll back into the ring.  Shock rams Misterio into
the turnbuckle, and starts to wail away with a series of punches,
until Warrior hits him with a kick to the back!  Warrior has his way
with Shock, until Misterio goes up top...  FLYING DROPKICK!  Misterio
whips Warrior into the ropes...  BUZZ!

x Gran Apache entered at 0:02:00

Gran Apache is #4!  Apache shoves Misterio from behind, and into the
waiting arms of Warrior...  POWER BOMB!  Meanwhile, Apache and Shock
go at it for a few seconds, until Apache grabs Shock...  GERMAN
SUPLEX!  Apache goes to toss Shock over the top rope, but Misterio
clotheslines Apache from behind, in an attempt at a double
elimination...  BUZZ!

x Perro Aguayo entered at 0:03:00

Not a good draw for Aguayo, but he cleans house right away, knocking
everyone down with right hands!  Aguayo takes Warrior into a corner,
and executes a series of chops, while Apache, Misterio and Shock all
grapple near the ropes.  Actually, not much is going on here, as the
buzzer goes off...

x Felino entered at 0:04:00

...and Felino comes in!  Felino pairs off with Misterio, Apache with
Shock, and Aguayo with Warrior.  Shock dropkicks Apache's knees in an
attempt to slow him down, then goes to toss him over the top rope, but
Apache blocks it...  HOTSHOT!  Apache gets up, and clotheslines Shock
over the top rope, eliminating him!

x Apache threw out E. Shock in 0:04:46

Apache takes a quick break, and watches the others go at it...  BUZZ!

x Histeria entered at 0:05:00

So, Apache ends up taking on Histeria.  Both men trade some basic
punches and armdrags, as we see Perro bodyslam Warrior in the center
of the ring!  Perro signals for the Double Stomp, and goes off the
ropes...  WARRIOR MOVES!  Perro wastes no time picking Warrior up, but
he counters with a cheap shot to the kidneys, and hits a
belly-to-belly suplex!  Apache...  HITS HISTERIA WITH THE FISHERMAN
SUPLEX!  That should do it!  Apache picks up Histeria...  BUZZ!

x Negro Casas entered at 0:06:00

CASAS!!!  Apache drops Histeria, and heads to the outside (through the
ropes, of course), but Casas follows him!  Apache immediately grabs a
chair, and goes to hit Casas with it, but misses!  After tossing away
the chair, Casas punches Apache a few times, then rams his head into
the ringpost!  Apache tries to get back into the ring, but Casas isn't
finished yet, and clotheslines Apache on the floor!  Meanwhile...
BUZZ!

x Pentagon entered at 0:07:00

Pentagon comes in at #9, but doesn't go into the ring just yet.
Instead, Pentagon goes over to Casas and Apache, and grabs the chair
that Casas tossed down!  Pentagon winds up...  AND DECKS CASAS!  Was
he who Pentagon was aiming for?  It doesn't matter, because Pentagon
rolls Casas into the ring, then simply tosses him over the top rope -
*onto* Apache - for the elimination.

x Pentagon threw out N. Casas in 0:07:45

And, of course, Pentagon rolls out to the floor, tosses Apache back
into the ring, and rolls back in...  BUZZ!

x Octagon entered at 0:08:00

OCTAGON!!!  Good draw for him, and a bad one for Pentagon!  Pentagon
waits for Octagon in the ring, and the two rivals go right at it with
a flurry of blows!  Oh, yeah...  There's other people in the match, as
well.  Poor Apache's slumped in the corner now, and Misterio's
signaling for the Bronco Buster...  OH!  BLACK WARRIOR TRIPPED
MISTERIO!  Misterio's out on his face, and Warrior stomps away, as the
buzzer sounds again...

x El Hijo Del Santo entered at 0:09:00

Good pop for Santo, as he comes in at #11.  Not much happens here, to
be honest, as everyone, save for Apache, is fighting with someone
else, and there's not much to say in terms of elimination attempts,
either.  So, we wait for the next buzzer...

x Abismo Negro entered at 0:10:00

...ABISMO GOES RIGHT AFTER SANTO! Abismo dropkicks Santo from behind,
and follows up with a clothesline!  Abismo stomps away on Santo in the
corner, and drops a knee right to the back of Santo's head!  Now...
Oh, no!  Abismo's trying to...  TAKE SANTO'S MASK OFF!  Abismo's
trying...  AGUAYO MAKES THE SAVE!  Meanwhile, Octagon and Pentagon are
still brawling in the corner...  BUZZ!

x Ultimo Guerrero entered at 0:11:00

Guerrero gets a *very* nice draw at #13, and goes to work on a beaten
Misterio, as Histeria hits Perro from behind...  PERRO DOESN'T EVEN
FLINCH!  Histeria brings his hand back again, but Perro counters with
two punches to the head, then a chop.  Perro grabs Histeria, and he
goes over the top rope and to the floor!

x Perro Sr. threw out Histeria after a chop in 0:11:23

However, the big story is Octagon and Pentagon, who are still
fighting, and are pretty close to the ropes!  Finally, Octagon lands a
series of kicks to Pentagon's midsection, and tosses him over the
top...  BUT PENTAGON HOLDS ON TO OCTAGON!  Both men are hanging on to
the top rope, but Pentagon's...  STILL HOLDING ON TO OCTAGON?
Pentagon's pulling, and pulling...  NO!  BOTH MEN FALL TO THE FLOOR!!!
DOUBLE ELIMINATION!

x Pentagon and Octagon eliminated each other in 0:11:56

While both men *continue* to brawl, here's the buzzer...

x Aguila entered at 0:12:00

Aguila can't complain about being #14.  Him and Ultimo Guerrero pair
off, as Pentagon and Octagon are now fighting in the stands, with some
security guards following them!  It looks like that issue *still*
isn't over...  Will it ever be?  Meanwhile, Santo *almost* gets
eliminated by Abismo, but he rolls back inside.  One more person to
know, and by process of elimination...  BUZZ!

x Jerry Estrada entered at 0:13:00

...it's Jerry Estrada!  Estrada wastes no time at all, as Apache runs
after him, but misses a clothesline, and Estrada counters with a
dropkick, and Apache goes up...  AND OVER!

x Estrada threw out Apache in 0:13:15

Meanwhile, everyone's ganging up on poor Perro, and for good reason,
as he hasn't done that bad here tonight.  Finally, after everyone
beats on him, Ultimo Guerrero's the one that clotheslines Perro...
OVER THE TOP ROPE!

x U. Guerrero threw out Perro Sr. in 0:13:42

A little more quick action follows, and Abismo and Santo go at it...
AGAIN!  This time, Santo hits two clotheslines, knocking Abismo off
his feet.  Abismo tries to go off the ropes to catch Santo...  AND
GETS BACKDROPPED!  Santo climbs to the top...  TOPE!  That should do
it!  Santo picks Abismo up...  BACKWARD KICK!  OOH!  Abismo reached
deep into his bag of tricks for that one, and Santo's rolling around
in pain!  Abismo picks up Santo...  AND CHUCKS HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE!

x A. Negro threw out Santo Jr. after a backward kick in 0:15:49

Estrada and Misterio are now going at it in the main attraction here,
and poor Rey is just getting destroyed.  Estrada is pummeling away in
the corner on Misterio, and picks him up...  POWER BOMB!  Estrada
senses an elimination, and climbs to the top rope...  ACK!  GUERRERO
RAN OVER AND SHOVED ESTRADA OFF THE TOP ROPE ONTO THE FLOOR!

x U. Guerrero threw out Estrada in 0:16:32

That was sick!  Estrada needs to be helped out by officials, as
Guerrero now works on poor Misterio, slapping him in the face a few
times, and taunting Misterio by pointing to his mask.  Guerrero whips
Misterio into the ropes, and follows in with a clothesline!  Guerrero
tries it again...  MISTERIO DUCKED!  Guerrero's on the apron, and
punches Misterio in the head a few times, then goes to smash his head
into the turnbuckle...  MISTERIO BLOCKS IT!  DROPKICK TO THE KNEE!
Guerrero's losing his balance...  HE FALLS OUT!

x Misterio Jr. threw out U. Guerrero in 0:17:29

Abismo Negro's now stomping away on Aguila in the center of the ring,
and climbs up to the top rope...  MOONSAULT!  Nice move there by
Abismo, and he goes to toss Aguila over the top...  BLOCKED!  Aguila
goes behind Abismo, and tries to push him over the top...  NO!  Abismo
turns around to elbow Aguila, but Black Warrior comes along, and
Abismo drills him instead!  That's all that Black Warrior needed, and
after a few quick shots, Warrior tosses a surprised Abismo out of the
ring!

x B. Warrior threw out A. Negro in 0:19:11

Abismo is livid, and storms to the back in disgust!  We're down to the
final four: Aguila, Black Warrior, Felino, and Rey Misterio Jr.,
and...  Felino charges Warrior, but misses a clothesline, and Warrior
runs to the opposite end of the ring, but holds on to the ropes, and
Felino charges at him...  BACKDROP!  OUT OF THE RING!  We're down to
three!

x B. Warrior threw out Felino in 0:19:55

Misterio's still pretty winded, so it's Warrior and Aguila going at
it.  Both men hit some pretty basic counters, then Warrior almost
takes Aguila's head off with a clothesline!  Warrior sets Aguila up on
the top rope, and climbs to go for a series of punches, but Aguila
pushes him off!  Aguila balances himself...  FLYING DROPKICK!  Aguila
climbs up top again, but Warrior's getting up!  Aguila sees this, and
sets himself up for a second flying dropkick...  WARRIOR SHAKES THE
ROPES!  Aguila crotches himself on the ropes, and falls back into the
ring!  Warrior grabs Aguila...  SEE YA!

x B. Warrior threw out Aguila in 0:21:52

Down to Warrior and Misterio!  #1 and #2 are still in the Rumble!
Misterio aims a punch, but Warrior's strong enough to avoid it, and he
takes Misterio down with a punch of his own.  Warrior makes a belt
motion, and takes Misterio...  POWER BOMB!  Warrior walks around the
ring, looking pretty confident of himself, and picks up Misterio...
AND TOSSES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE!  BLACK WARRIOR VS. BLUE DEMON JR. AT
REY DE REYES...  WAIT A SECOND!  MISTERIO LANDED ON ONE FOOT WHEN HE
LANDED!  HE'S NOT ELIMINATED!  Misterio crawls back into the ring,
while Warrior celebrates, oblivious to what just happened!  He doesn't
see Misterio behind him...  ELBOWSMASH!  Warrior staggers forward, and
Misterio struggles...  AND GETS HIM OVER THE TOP!!!  BOTH FEET TOUCH
THE GROUND!!!  REY MISTERIO JR. VS. BLUE DEMON JR. AT REY DE REYES!

x Misterio Jr. threw out B. Warrior after an elbowsmash in 0:23:24

No-Countout-No-DQ-15-Man Royal Rumble:
Rey Misterio Jr. won a 15-man Royal Rumble.
Rating: ** 1/2

MISTERIO WINS!  He was in there for 23 minutes, but he managed to
tough it out and take home the title shot!  Meanwhile, we see Blue
Demon Jr. himself in the back, with his Mexican National Heavyweight
Title.  He just sighs to himself, and shakes his head, smiling.  Huh?
Back at ringside, Black Warrior has entered the ring again, looking
very ticked off, and after facing off with Misterio, quickly shook his
hand and made his way back to the locker room.  Nice gesture.
Misterio celebrates with his fans before making his way back to the
locker room, as the show ends.

Next week...  Well, it's pretty much up in the air right now.  I don't
think the fans will be disappointed, however.  See you then!
