AAA House Show (01/15/2000)

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Psicosis and Mewtwo beat Mini Discovery, Mini
Ludxor and Pikachu 2 falls to 1:
x Mewtwo beat Mini Ludxor via a Frankensteiner from the top rope in
0:03:48
x Pikachu beat Mewtwo via the Pika-Sault in 0:07:52
x Mini Abismo beat Pikachu via an abdominal stretch in 0:10:40
Rating: *

Decent opener.  I'd say the biggest surprise here was Pikachu gaining
some revenge over his loss to Mewtwo at Guerra De Titanes in the
second fall.  However, Mini Abismo would end up getting revenge for
his loss to Pikachu at Noche Del Terror in the end, scoring the
submission victory for his team.  Pretty fast-paced match.

[Lightning Match]:
Ricky Marvin pinned America after a Frankensteiner in 0:05:57.
Rating: 3/4*

Good, fast match, as both men hit tons of great acrobatic moves on
each other.  Instead of a 3 minute sequence like last week, this time
they have a 6 minute match, with the ending coming after Marvin
reversed a power bomb by America into a Frankensteiner for the pin.
Both men shook hands after the match.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Ayako Hamada and Esther Moreno beat Linda Star and Rossy Moreno 2
falls to 1:
x Hamada beat L. Star via a Victory Roll in 0:06:28
x L. Star beat E. Moreno via a rana in 0:10:51
x Hamada beat L. Star via the La Ayakiita in 0:17:16
Rating: * 1/2

Best match of the night.  Poor Linda Star, who's fighting for a AAA
long-term deal, ended up losing twice to Ayako Hamada, via a nice
Victory Roll after a series of near-falls, and the dreaded La Ayakiita
submission hold at the end.  All four women looked pretty sharp in
this one.

Aguila, Mr. Niebla and Magnum Tokyo defeated Los Vatos Locos (May
Flowers, Nygma and Picudo) when Mr. Niebla pinned Nygma with the
Frankensteiner in 0:18:09.
Rating: *

This one went *way* too long.  The tecnicos wanted to wrestle, and Los
Vatos wanted to brawl.  Guess how that went.  So, they tried some
wrestling, then they tried some brawling.  It didn't go that well.
Finally, Niebla hit Nygma with a garbage can, then Aguila hit him with
a kendo stick.  Niebla then hit the Frankensteiner for the tecnico
win.  Afterwards, Nygma was told to stay in the ring, because...

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Black Warrior, Nygma and El Dandy beat Rey Dragon, Perro Aguayo and
Felino 2 falls to 1:
x Nygma beat Perro Sr. via the Flying Splash in 0:03:59
x Felino beat B. Warrior via a Frankensteiner in 0:11:59
x B. Warrior beat Felino via an Asai moonsault in 0:14:29
Rating: * 1/4
(Sangre Chicana no-showed.)

..Sangre Chicana didn't feel like showing up.  He'd better have a
good excuse...  Anyways, this match was just there, with some nice
moves and stuff, but it wasn't quite what the fans were expecting.
Nygma earned a huge upset in the first fall, taking out Perro Aguayo
with his Flying Splash, but after the pin, Perro bodyslammed Nygma,
and nailed him with the Double Stomp, to the delight of the crowd.
Nygma wasn't in for much after that.  Dandy distracted Felino at the
end, allowing Warrior to hit an Asai moonsault for the pin, and the
win for the rudos.

Contract update: Steve Corino resigned with AAA.  Esther Moreno chose
not to, however, so she was quietly let go Sunday morning.
