AAA House Show (01/02/2000)

(And no, we don't run on New Year's Day, either. :)  Location:
Saltillo, Mexico.)

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Geo, Moto Cross and Ultimo Guerrero beat Ricky Marvin, Super Nova II
and Fugaz 2 falls to 1:
x Nova II beat U. Guerrero via countout in 0:16:58
x U. Guerrero beat R. Marvin via a senton in 0:19:14
x U. Guerrero beat Fugaz via a small package in 0:24:00
Rating: * 1/4

Hm...  I think, before we start, that I failed to mention that certain
people had either quit or chose not to resign with AAA, including AAA
Caged Fury Tournament Finalist Discovery, Nemesis, Thunderbird and
Abeja Africana.  No big losses, from what I remember hearing, but you
can rest assured that AAA needs to sign some undercard talent very
soon...  Oh, yeah.  There was a match, too.  After the tecnicos took
control in the first fall, Guerrero walked out for the countout loss,
but stormed right back into the ring as the tecnicos celebrated, and
attacked Ricky Marvin from behind!  Poor Marvin was the victim of a
senton for the second fall, then Fugaz accidentally ran into Nova,
allowing Guerrero to roll Fugaz up from behind for the third fall, and
the victory!

Elimination Match:
Ayako Hamada, Esther Moreno and Kaori Nakayama beat Linda Star, Miss
Janeth and Rie Tamada 3 falls to 2:
x E. Moreno beat Miss Janeth via a rana in 0:04:49
x R. Tamada beat Hamada via the Dragon Suplex in 0:10:41
x K. Nakayama beat R. Tamada via countout in 0:11:25
x L. Star beat K. Nakayama via a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:14:41
x E. Moreno beat L. Star via an Asai moonsault in 0:19:21
Survivors: Esther Moreno
Rating: **

Decent match.  Both teams traded eliminations early on, with Moreno
eliminating Janeth with a pin out of a rana, and Mexican National
Women's Champion Rie Tamada taking care of Hamada with the Dragon
Suplex.  After that fall, Kaori came in, looking for revenge.  She
wouldn't get it, as Tamada grabbed her belt and left ringside, making
it a two-on-one.  Determined, Linda Star tried her best against two
opponents, and in a shocker, upset former Women's Champion Nakayama
with a top-rope Frankensteiner!  However, Esther Moreno gained the
advantage soon after that, and one Asai moonsault later, the match was
over.  Tecnicas take the win.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Heavy Metal beat Histeria 2 falls to 0:
x H. Metal beat Histeria via a spinebuster slam in 0:08:32
x H. Metal beat Histeria via the Casita in 0:12:51
Rating: 1/2*

More of a brawl than an actual match, as these two tossed punches at
each other up and down the aisleway for a few minutes, before entering
the ring.  Once there, Histeria fell victim to a spinebuster slam, to
lose the first fall.  Histeria did attempt something resembling a
comeback, however, which consisted mostly of punches, kicks and a low
blow.  However, after running into the corner and finding nobody at
home, Histeria was taken by surprise with the Casita for the second
fall, and the sweep for Heavy Metal!

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Matt Hardy beat Rey Misterio Jr. 2 falls to 0:
x M. Hardy beat Misterio Jr. via the Neckbreaker in 0:04:27
x M. Hardy beat Misterio Jr. via a flying legdrop in 0:09:23
Rating: ** 3/4

Too short.  Hardy won the first fall easily, but fell apart in the
second fall.  Rey was all over him, punishing him for every single
mistake he made.  However, after missing a moonsault, Rey seemed to
injure his knee!  Hardy took advantage of that, hitting a flying
legdrop shortly after for the surprising sweep.  After the match, Rey
was helped to the back by officials and Hardy, but reports say that he
won't be gone for long, if at all.  He may well be in action on TV
this week.

Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Black Warrior, Jerry Estrada and Shocker beat Aguila, El Hijo Del
Santo and Perro Aguayo 2 falls to 1:
x Santo Jr. beat B. Warrior via a flying cross body press in 0:22:15
x Shocker beat Aguila via the Reinera in 0:25:15
x Shocker beat Santo Jr. via a rana in 0:29:17
Rating: * 1/4

Don't let the rating fool you.  This was a terrific match.  The first
twenty minutes saw everyone involved in the match in some capacity,
and the crowd ate it up.  After the twenty minute mark, however,
things started to proceed pretty rapidly.  Santo caught Warrior with a
flying cross body press for the first fall, but not three minutes
later, Shocker locked Aguila into the Reinera, and there's not much
you can do after that.  Once Aguila submitted, and everyone else was
on the floor, it was down to Shocker and Santo.  Santo hit the tope
off the top rope, and looked to have the win, but Jerry Estrada
attacked from behind!  Santo managed to clothesline him over the top
rope, but Shocker caught Santo with a rana out of nowhere, and earned
the pinfall, and the win for the rudos!
